Happy 25th Birthday For You!!! (Not just another 7th April thread...)

Did anyone here buy For You in 1978?

What are your thoughts on the album purely as an album (ie. not the start of Prince's career)?

What does For You provide that the rest of his music doesn't?

If Prince re-recorded and re-released the album now, would it be called 4U?

This album was a great one considering it covered gospel, disco, funk, soul, and a lil bita rock...I don't know if this would need to be re-recorded cuz it seemed pretty pure...the raw stuff came afterwords...

I got 3 copys on wax...2 are scratched a lil sad...but the 3rd is sealed and unopened and I think I will keep it that way for a while! I'm a DJ and the worst thing is to be spinnin the funk and suddenly the music turns itself into repetitive techno that you never intended on...the crowd will look atcha funny!
