I went to 5 out of 7 Sydney shows. Including front row middle...got his guitar pick after he played Gett off with it.
You know, i remember one night, i am sure i prolonged Purple Rain's intro, as he started to play, I started to sing 'Oww hoo ooww' (high pitched singing bit from end of the song) like from the original. Anyway he came the edge of the stage and put his mike down to me and the first few rows started all doing it, he looked at me and smiled, he was loving it. Anyway the whole place started singing along...He even played a small intro solo on guitar before he started the song. Considering that tour allows very little improvs, that version was the best version of the whole sydney tour! And I know I started it...The purple flowers fell from the roof and it was beautiful..A long real proper version of Purple Rain...And a great memory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I attended the Sydney gig, Mon 27th April.
Ive mentioned b4 that I had food poisoning while lining up for tickets on my 16th birthday (tix went on sale 16th March 1992), but I NEVER left the line! I think initially too, there were only 2 Sydney gigs announced, they sold out within minutes, and word went down the line "First gig SOLD OUT" then a few minutes later "Second gig SOLD OUT". I was devastated because I was almost at the ticket counter (after being SO SICK). I thought that I missed out. Then a phone call came through confirming that after talking with Paisley Park, more shows were added (and there was a massive cheer by everyone on the line) It was PANDEMONIUM! Probably what it was to Australia like what Purple Rain was to America, there was news stories all the time, right from when he landed from Japan at Gold Coast airport, done the Brisbane gigs, done the aftershow at Transformers night club (causing traffic jams, having to leave in an old commodore as the limo was a decoy and got mobbed). The NPG were all over the TV, Tony, Damon & Kirk were on the Today show dressed in the Sexy MF gear (black shirts, pants and white ties), going to the zoo, seeing Koalas & Kangaroos. The stupid contests radio stations staged for people to win tickets (they had to dive into an inflatable pool, filled with "cream" to find "diamonds & pearls") The whole SCG fiasco that went to court, with Paul Dainty representing Prince against south Sydney council (who tried to ban the gig citing noise restrictions, but lost) The show was tight, Prince rebounded off the vibe. It's funny how b4 he came, like late '80's, anyone u talked to about Prince, it was always like, "He's a Fag" Interesting those same people went to the concerts, cuz they had girlfriends or whatever that were into Prince, or they got caught up in the whole buzz. The guy sitting in front of me was the little kid who starred in all the coco pop ad's, even was wearing a Prince outfit from Graffiti Bridge - EVERYONE dug Prince I think he'd command the same respect if he came back to tour here [This message was edited Mon Apr 7 6:26:58 PDT 2003 by dnaplaya] Xperience the Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com/

No photos.
I remember the ushers walking up and down the isles and conferscating cameras if anyone took photos. U did get the camera back at the end of the show, minus the film. I did collect news articles, and taped TV appearences (there was a news story on the ticket sales) when Diamond & Pearl appeared on the Steve Vizard show, etc. The Sydney telegraph also got an exclusive photo of Prince leaving his hotel or a club, They took the photo, and when they saw his minders come over (they knew the film would be ripped out of the camera), they had a second camera which they played switch a roo, so they got the shot! The first Melbourne show supposedly sold out in 8-10 minutes, and I don't think that record has been broken yet.
I got to 2 Melbourne shows, what a trip, just awesome, long time in between drinks and I'm hoping he comes back soon. I get hard if the wind blows your cologne near me

I flew in from NZ to see him in Sydney. 3 hours before the concert I'm in the Mcdonalds at the entertainment centre and whos in the line next to me? Diamond and Pearl and two huge security guys. Very surreal moment.
It was my first time seeing Prince and it totally blew me away ... so much so that I had to blow all my remaining cash to get tickets from a scalper for the floor the next night. $180 I think. My first and only scalping experience, I was so nervous as anyone approached ne, terrifed the tickets would be fake. Not caring about the money, just about not seeing the show again! It was an awesome experience, made me fall in love with Sydney too. However I ended up in Montreal, which has resulted in alot more Prince Concerts!

Went 2 the Melbourne Sat. 18. April 1992 (National Tennis Centre).
Im from Adelaide so got a friend of mine 2 get tickets. He managed 2 get the last tickets 4 the first gig on the 16th unaware there would b more shows. As he was leaving they announced the second show was on sale so he rushed back and traded them for excellent seats 2 the second show. The night of the 16th P and the Band attended the metro after the show. I attended and was hoping 4 a jam but he just sat there upstairs in the vip section. Had 2 get up there so a friend of mine and I snuck our way in and managed 2 mingle with the band but got no where near P. He was surrounded by bodyguards and sucking on a lollypop. Still was good 2 chat 2 Sonny, Michael, Tommy and the rest of the Band.
