as a bird lover and breeder/keeper of birds imo, leaving the birds positioned over the foyer might not be in their best interests.

Yes, dear, he had a reason: he liked doves. He also liked orchids. Not everything he did had a deep mystical meaning. Knock it off, it's getting really boring. I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.

I think of vegetarianism as a diet and veganism as a lifestyle. But by the time Prince made some new choices for himself those birds were at home. How could he put them out. That would have sucked. She was a beautiful bird.
I am also interested in knowing how often he talked to them or stood by them; I'm imagining it had to be some of the time.i can't see passing them every day without stopping here and there. I'd like to see that. Wish there was some footage or someone would speak of seeing this. I laugh when I think of Mel B's interview with p about them. Didn't she ask when Prince mentioned there were babies if Prince "mated" the doves, and he was polite enough to not say, "Uh, they didn't need any encouragement." I wonder what happened to those babies. Are those the only two he ever had? [Edited 1/24/17 5:26am]

Prince had two doves named Majesty and Divinity. The birds who live on the grounds are credited for singing on Prince’s album, “One Night Alone.” Since his death, however, Nelson shares that birds have remained silent.
“If they’re quiet, it doesn’t feel the same,” said Nelson. “After he passed, they weren’t talking. When I first came in, I’m like, ‘Where [are] the doves? What’s going on?”
She was assured that the doves were still on the compound, but hadn’t been as vocal since Prince never returned home.
While touring Studio A in Prince’s estate, Al Roker shares that everything in the studio has been left just as Prince left it. Fortunate enough, to hear the doves while touring, Roker states, “It’s literally doves crying right now.”

It seems like they might have been free to roam Paisley Park
http://jezebel.com/prince...1787468015 Prince had two doves — Majesty and Divinity — whose singing could be heard throughout the compound when the singer was alive. They’re even credited as “ambient singing” on his album One Nite Alone... And, since the singer died, Paisley Park has been eerily silent, devoid of bird song as Majesty and Divinity mourn, too. “After he passed, they weren’t talking,” Nelson told Roker. So she encouraged the staff to play some of Prince’s music to make things sound a little more like home. The doves responded in kind and Roker himself confirmed that as he walked through Paisley Park, he could hear them, back at it again with the crying. “I heard these sounds when I was here earlier and it is literally doves crying right now,” Roker said. Good! I’m glad Divinity and Majesty are doing okay.

One recent cook describes how much he liked her teriyaki salmon. The Roberts, cooks for the last three years, described him as "mostly vegetarian". Look at the Paisley Park menu. . - Yes, it´s true. He wasnt always vegan, but I think being vegetarian is already a proof of compassion. It was real cool of him to be vegetarian and write about it.

I agree! Obvs, those birds were very well cared for. Birds in captivity live MUCH longer than wild ones. And I can't imagine Prince ignoring those birds for any length of time. I mean, c'mon, if people hire petsitters for daily walks, NATCH someone was checking those critturs when he was away, whether it was staff (and nobody but an idiot would leave PP completely empty 24 hours a day for any length of time, so the birds had to have had someone checking on them if P didn't take them with.) or someone who knew something about birds, or whatever. Yeebus, folks, stop geting frantic! lol
Also, in general, I remember P saying something about there having been some babies at one point during the interview with Scary Spice (I think that's her name... ). Nobody knew about it until they noticed the eggs hatching. lol sneaky birds, but that makes it fairly clear that they were male and female. It's kinda hard to tell what sex birds are, usually, unless you go by size. Girls are bigger than boys, and often have duller plumage. But with both birds being white, no idea, especially since I've only gotten a brief look via pics maybe once or twice? I imagine myself inside your bedroom; oh, I imagine myself in your sky.
