Hi OP, + Hatrina..
He is talking bullsh*t about all other people even in his own republican party, Prince 4Ever.

I wish they would have kept Prince signs out of this. I don't even know exactly what these marches were about. If it's people upset that their political party lost in November then maybe they need to do a better job of getting out the vote everywhere and not just racking up huge margins in places they would have won anyway. Prince stayed out of taking sides for the most part but if you think he wasn't political listen to all his music and read the lyrics. Brand new boogie without the hero.

This song was controversial but it had a great message.

Those are some cool posters. I can't say I'm really a fan of the song itself here but it's nice to see thr message appear on current political protest posters, even if it's partly in jest. Heavenly wine and roses seems to whisper to me when you smile...

I agree laurarichardson. Also, Rogifan, I hope you are a man because if you dont know what the marches were about as a woman then that is The signs were fabulous. A great homage to Prince.

Prince's music was very political whether we like it or not. He created songs about racism, misogyny, "don't ask, don't tell" policy, Asperger's acceptance, natural hair appreciation, body positivity, religions... Bringing him up in marches or demos is inevitable. full lips, freckles, and upturned nose

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Are you the person holding the banner? Or have you spoken to them? full lips, freckles, and upturned nose

This is a moral issue with Trump, so Pussy Control is a damn fine antithetical message to the amoral message that says, sexually assault a woman, no big deal. Pussy Control is perfect in this context, and I for one and damn glad to see that some women in the protests understood this. From the looks of the signs I would say that the women wielding them knew exactly what the song is about.

Amen! | |

Exactly! And there's the fact that Prince does have another song with "pussy" in the title but for the context, neither the song nor the title worked. Hence, no signs of it. So this clearly just wasn't about use of the word "pussy". [Edited 1/27/17 18:37pm] I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I think it's more clever than that. Prince has well earned appreciation from a wide spectrum of women and the song is a Princely attempt at female empowerment.

I'm not a political type person and would never march about anything. But... those signs made me LOL. I might change my mind if those signs were involved! Very cool idea.
