Let's Produce the 2017 Grammy Tribute We have about one month to influence the Grammy producers regarding their planned Prince tribute (they do visit the Org, right?) My fantasy: A short career spanning documentary profiling his musical influence and genuis with amazing performance clips. Followed by a live performance of DMSR that is celebratory and funky. The band would be comprised of an all star lineup of former Prince bandmembers, associates and background singers. The lead singers would be Beyonce, Rihanna and Bruno Mars. The entire broadcast show would end with a stirring Prince live video performance (never broadcast before) of just the guitar solo to Purple Rain. Imagine you have 15 minutes of screen time, as the Producer what would you do?

My Fantasy
I want Sheila E to be the presenter. It is because not only they have a long friendship but because she was one of the few musicians who performed with him in his numerous eras. She could add some humor and memories with a bit of tears.
Next, it would be clips mixture of his performance and music videos. I want to be similar like the Purple Medley from 1995 American Music Awards? like the first clip feature a video of I Wanna Be Your Lover to the last clip showing one of his final performances with the Piano and Mic Tour. That would give a scope to the viewing audience he was just more than fucking Mr. Purple Rain.
The performance should start with Mayte dancing for a minute or two. Then following by I want the revolution to perform a song. Following by the time joining onstage. And finally by an all-star band that include Bruno Mars members of the revolution, the family, the time, Jill Jones, plus people from his following bands like 3rdeyegirl and NPG. Finally, I would like for three people from the stage to say their thoughts on Prince and how much they missed him and how much he meant to many people. And the end.

Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and the Weeknd are doing the tribute this 2017. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

So it can be avoided at all costs? Because if it is, I will.

I'm mostly disappointed with a lot of musical tributes to artist. Especially for artist who can really sing or who are really talented instrumentally. For Prince I'd say you gotta go with a lot of different artist from all different genres . Pop, Soul/R&B, Country,Jazz, Gospel,Rock,Soft/Rock etc. Prince has dabbled in so many styles . I don't think I'll ever see a full big time tribute That'll satisfy me. I don't think the performers should necessarily be the hot stars of the day if they can't deliver.
