I'm not a guitar player and know little about the instrument. Did Prince ever say why he started playing Vox guitars? [Edited 1/15/17 4:07am]

- Not that I know of. I am curious about it too

BTW, Vox is my least fave P guitar

It's not hard, buy a digitech Whammy and every boss pedal and crank them all.😂

Blow us all away with your virtuoso guitar playing then? We need prove.

eh, i mean obviously he was extremely good and talented and blessed but we're talking about tone. i didn't say you'll play like him. but as far as sound/tone, it's not "TOO" hard to duplicate. for his 84-89 tone: boss vibrato, boss flanger, boss delay, boss octave, boss overdrive, boss distortion, colorsound wah pedal and a mesa boogie amp; mark 2 or 3.

This^^^^ , Plus, if we are talking about his recordings ( as opposed to the tone we heard live) the mixing/mastering engineers had a lot to do with what we hear on those records.

I don't know if he ever mentioned why the switch, but I have to imagine it's a mix of the look and tone of it. The look certainly fit, and from what I've read, they're pretty solid and versatile.

He never really talked about his gear or setup much did he? I'm sure he did with other musicians but I don't remember him giving many interviews about the subject.
