I'm pretty sure this song was originally written by Prince some time between 1979 and 1982.

its hard to believe that Prince could write crap like this. then again, he wrote most of the awful stuff on Apollonia 6, so its not unprecedented.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread. Well I stand corrected, gents; "Mo' Better" was written by with Andrew Hopkins and E.M. Hunter. However, it was performed, produced and mixed by Kirk Johnson. My impression with these co-written songs is that Prince may have come up with a hook or rhythmic idea but the rest of the songs are fleshed out by the other guys. That's the way it seemed to work with the stuff done with Levi.
