Very interesting to say the lease. I wonder who is receiveing the manager fees that were in the December accounting schedule.

Probably because Phaedra gave JayZ the go ahead to publish the other albums, songs on Ps birthday in June and she wants to be held harmless in regard to monetary damages.

Yes, this is a normal request if she wasnt formally notified by the Estate that she was removed of her duties.

I think Van Jones should definitely be considered, but I'd like to see 3 chosen. And no, McMillan is NOT one of those who should be chosen, he has proven himself as not to be trusted and it appears he puts himself above all else. What a disappointment. Nonetheless, he shouldn't be under consideration based on things that have been shown to the court.

I just don't see what Van brings to the table. The heirs can always seek his advice if they value it.

I don't want him running the show. Mcmillian seems to have been exposed.

The article I read(I'll find the post) said 50%, an additional 5% for something else, and with deductions, etc. they are guesstimating $100 million to be paid....my jaw fell on the floro. Now you KNOW P would've had NONE of this...which brings me back around to...wth is the damn wil?!?!?!

All things considered, I cant see him "planning" it that way. Major, major accident with unintended circumstances. Was there a life insurance policy?

mmm, I'm not sure, I mean outside of his jw beliefs about politics, Prince demonstrated a pretty patriotic persona, so I'm not quite sure he'd of had THAT major of an issue with paying taxes even huge taxes. Show me if I'm wrong.

A will wouldn't change a thing. Carefully executed trusts, yes.
Bit those are CONtracts.

As for life insurance: That is only for those without solid assets to take care of dependents. P had plenty of assets and no dependents.

The will would not have changed one single thing? Is that specific to the offset of the tax distibution or just what is divided generally?

The Estate will be taxed on the Federal level 40% and on the state level of 16%. That will based on the value of the Estate which will use fair value valuation and appraisals for the rare items, like the Vault material.

...right. I was just going from memory and knew the total taxable was around 55%(40%+16%..not 50%+5%..like I originally said)...but still giving an allowance of 5% for deductions and such, which brings total taxable back down to approximately 50%. I think the only way (as stated in the article) to avoid such high taxes were 1. A will designating heirs 2. Charities 3. Trusts

I've read that he sometimes complained about his property taxes being too high. I think everyone tries to minimize their tax bill as much as possible.

You would think so. But he kept refusing to do a will despite knowing the tax burden, and for someone so purposeful in his dealings, I'm convinced beyond all doubt he had a reason, what it was I haven't a clue but he had one.

Also, I may be wrong, but the first $5M is not taxable. I am not sure how trusts work, but regardless, it is a high tax burden,

Prince was pretty notorious for paying tax bills years late. There is an article that was posted in a thread here on the org less tan 48 hours ago, in that article which was published a few years back, the taxes were so late that foreclosure had been filed against the property (one of his houses, not PP)
