I don't know what to believe anymore. Especially after reading that Billboard interview with Londell and Charles Koppelman. It sounds like the last few years of Prince's life the business side was a bit of a mess, opportunities not being taken advantage of, money being left on the table etc. Yet we've all been conditioned to believe Bremer, Londell, Charles, etc. are the bad guys just in it to make $$$ for themselves while Tyka, Omarr, Van etc. are the good guys that only care about protecting Prince's legacy. I don't know why Kirk became the bad guy. The reasons seem kind of flimsy to me. Paisley Park is in your heart

I agree not throwing K/ P's longest steady employee/ probably best friend, under the bus. I know nothing about nothing, but when I read about the trip to Switzerland after the death, it was w/ a statement it had been pre- arranged vacation/ P had wanted him to go. That's my recollection no I don't save links but excellent reading comprehension. As for the specialized attorney, if you were the one designated employee driving all around a sick man to stores/ care appts. and the private quarters and belonging/ bags found at Paisley were in such disarray / unorganized medical care med relief, well it would make sense just in case/ have legal help speaking for you. He seemed incredibly loyal. I believe he has done the best and right by him. Until proven otherwise, and in the meantime honor his steady companionship.

The Billboard thread was locked so I shall post my feelings here. I thought the CK/LM interview was quite diplomatic and informative. I agree that Prince's business affairs were in disarray, he was not liquid enough, and it is imperative to move as soon as possible to maximize revenue because two to three years from now could be too late. Remember that no matter how much hardcore fans loved him, he was not as prominent in the past 25 years as he could have been and therefore the fan base now is limited.

--Wow he was not prominent because he was not on a major lable which was his choice. I don't see the evidence from the inventory sheet that he was in finacial disarray but this his Prince.org were reality is suspended (Lol) He was getting a million a show and over the last year and it looks like he did know more than 10-20. Could it have been because he was getting old or dealing with illness or maybe he was making enough money to meet his needs. He had no debt before the estate managers came along and look at the settlements and lawsuits they generated. I think the deals they are making or good and I think keeping the peer to peer is good so all their eggs are not in one basket is good as well I bet that was not Koppleman's idea. However, blatant lies because Kopplemam does not feel Prince maximized his money enough for Kopplemam's liking is bullshit and an unprofessional thing to say in the media. I can clearly see why some family members have a problem with these two. Also notice how Kopplemen is saying that Prince's personal life was great what happened to the narrative of depressed drug addict. It was an interesting choice of words. . There is a misunderstanding being spread, which started in the now-locked Billboard interview thread.
Summary: 'That article is NOT talking about debts owed by Prince; it discusses MONEY OWED TO PRINCE. That's what "money left on the table" means. P wanted to control his own fortunes and was planning on expanding his control. It worked for him. But an accountant and attorney would see other opportunities. But he's not here to generate a million or three in one concert so things will change. .

[Edited 2/9/17 15:40pm] No the article said nothing about debts but Koppelman does say his finances were in disarray because he probaly had royalties, performance rights, money out there that he was not collecting. That does signal disarray massive debt is finacial disarray. We also do not know what Prince was planning to do outside of the museum and future concert dates. We know that Irving Arroff said they were in talks to have his company collect performing rights so maybe he had plans. Wrong for Koppleman to say this shit. [Edited 2/9/17 15:54pm]

Streaming deals are coming. Probably announced in time for the Grammys. http://pitchfork.com/news...al_twitter PRNFamily Twitter account has tweeted multiple times today but not once about this deal with UMG. I think that's incredibly odd as that is big news. I assume the silence is because Omarr or Tyka or whomever runs that account doesn't agree but I'd love to know what their ideas are, or is it to do nothing? Paisley Park is in your heart

Prince probably received up to five million for Roman's event, but you really believe he got a million each night for P & A M? Underlying their comments was the feeling that the estate resolution has been akin to a snake pit when dealing with two of the four family members. I don't know who is telling the truth, but Prince left what he left.

I say a million because he did a lot of private shows in the last decade of his life a supposedly he got a million for these shows. Also the man that runs Harlem Children's zone said Prince donated 1mill from his Madison Square show to his charity this was his revenue from that show. Also Live Nation was trying to get him to do a big arena tour for years they say the thought he could generate 80 million. I also know the promoter for the Atlanta show said he 9 more shows lined up and some were going to be in big venues. Remember he did sell out the Iracke arena at high ticket prices

And I remember reading somewhere he got $3M from Samsung to do the SXSW gig in 2013. -He was pulling down good money and I really for him money was a means to keep playing and recording music. If he was a greedy person he would not have paid people's medical bills he did not know, buy people motorcycles or put solar panels on people houses. I am more impressed with that then someone who is sitting on 500 million and hoarding it. That is the reason I find Koppleman's comment offensive he is saying he did not have enough money to suit Koopleman's vision but it was not Koppleman's money in the first place. Do you not understand what licensing means? Making money off the music from video games, movies, t.v shows, Muzak and karaoke. These are some of the things Koppleman is talking about as lost opportunities and maybe money that could have been made. The only problem is I don't think Prince wanted to do any of those things. Most are just cheesy and stupid. The family will have to watch out for stupid stuff like putting his music in a fucking circus show or having some fucked up rapper rapping over Purple Rain because greed makes people do dumbass shit. Universal is the same company that let DJ come in and remix Motown songs just dumb ass shit. Universal will push to do stuff like that and maybe even try to censor stuff.
