THIS is why I love him!!!

Sitting here nonchalant, listening to Cosmos for the first time, feeling confident that I've heard most of this stuff already. No biggie... A song fades up - just him, the mic & an acoustic guitar...

love come quick
love come in a hurry
there are thieves in the temple tonight...

... his voice goes SO high & sounds SO sweet. It's slowed down & bluesy, peppered w/ anguish, has a whole new feel. Just put a spin on it, making me appreciate it in a whole new way. I actually look @ my radio like, "What the fuck is comin outta you?! eyepop DAMN!!!" It's recorded badly, all hissy & shit, and STILL sounds incredible. The emotion in his voice is giving me goosebumps, & I ain't typing this just for effect - I got chills y'all :O

THIS is why I love him. This song is how old? Yet I feel like I'm hearing it for the first time - the lyrics are hitting me in a different way. And he was probably just fuckin around, but here I am trippin, in a zone. How does he do it?

And now it's on repeat, becoming my new obsession. Fuck me... dat fool is unbelievable... disbelief cry headbang
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

2freaky, that ego, arrogance, pride or whatever u want to call it is a breath of fresh air. He represents a strong Black male who has realized his dream and no one is gonna take it from him. He is a great role model for the black people in this country. Minus all the sexual lyrics of course:lol:

For the first time, C??? I'm actually glad you managed to get your hands on this boot. 'Cosmos' is a real classic, cho-full of unbeatable performances in the best possible sound quality (for bootlegs, that is).

And before you ask, yes, way superior to what ended up on the much vaunted 'The Work' series.

Examples?

Broken
Moonbeam Levels
Extra Loveable
Purple Music #2
Possessed [vocal 1983 version]#1
Possessed [instrumental 1984 version]#2
G-Spot [Prince vocal]#1
Wet Dream Cousin [instrumental]
The Dance Electric [full-length version]
Sexual Suicide
Crystal Ball #1
Rebirth Of The Flesh
Alphabet St.(This Is Not Music, This Is A Trip)#1
If I Love U 2Nite #3
The Voice Inside
Cookie Jar
Love, Thy Will Be Done [Prince vocal]#1
Poor Little Bastard

If anybody is thinking about compiling stuff for a friend or just for the sheer hell of it and you want it to include any of the songs above, then definitely use 'Cosmos' as your source. You won't be disappointed!

I feel you. I was all safe and snuggle with just the official releases and maybe and a few vinyl boots. Then came the net and the motherlode of boots and I was in your boat. It increased everything times 10. Damn. It was like a nw larger catelogue of music from the other side. Raised The Sickness fever.

I completely agree with you dudes...

'Dreams' is another essential document. You'll need it for the best available versions of the following demos:

Turn It Up [main portion]
Turn It Up [extended portion]
Feel U Up
Irresistible Bitch
Do Yourself A Favor
No Call U
Chocolate
Old Friends 4 Sale #1
Heaven
Wonderful Ass #1
Baby Go-Go
Witness 4 The Prosecution [October 1986 remake]#3
Love Machine [Prince vocal]#1
Soul Psychodelicide #4
Make Believe
The Rest Of My Life
I'll Do Anything
Be My Mirror
Empty Room #1

I'm feelin' you on this on CS..nod

I just recently got this same boot, and to hear
THAT song, acoustic, blew me away too!

He really tore up the high notes ...woot!

Another song that I LOVE is "Love, Thy Will Be Done"
The way he layers his voices is amazingly done on
his version.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

It's a pity most people are as yet unable to hear P's layering during his demo of 'Still Would Stand All Time', before the Steeles grabbed hold of it and put their vocals on.

Either you have the understanding of a 2 year old or you're just being an ass... I'm guessing the latter neutral

Real question for you: what the FUCK does that have to do with this song sounding great??? disbelief I don't really give a shit if he's a bastard w/ an ego the size of Texas but WHY oh WHY do you feel the need to force that down my throat when that's not even the topic here? I could see if I was saying what a wonderful person he is & you wanted to counter my point, but you're just pulling shit out yo ass for no REAL reason. This thread is about a song that moved me, not Prince as a person & what people think of him. Instead of the crusade to remind people "how he REALLY is" try staying on topic for 5 minutes, or is that toddler comprehension tripping you up again? hmm

nod fanatics suck.

I just figured something out: People have a REAL problem w/ being unable to separate Prince the man from Prince the musician. There's too many stories out there to believe Prince the MAN is an angel, & that's not what I believe. He might be the asshole many folks say he is, fine (I haven't heard all the stories, don't really care to, hence the "might be")... but whatever his faults as a man, I don't have that on my mind ALL THE TIME (like some of you) b/c that's HIS shit to work out, his shit to live with, his shit to have on his heart. Relationships w/ band members, ex-wives, whoever he's fucked over in the past & will fuck over in the future affects him & THAT PERSON, not me as a chick w/ a cd player diggin on a song. I'm not excusing the behavior, but I ain't gotta dwell on the shit either! I have REAL shit to be bitter over, least of which is Prince & "how he treats his fans" ('cause I KNOW that shit's gonna come up), LOFL!!

I can say I love him b/c I truly love the musician inside him, the music that comes out of him. Y'all won't let us forget he has plenty of flaws, but those flaws do NOT take away from the incredible musician he is. And call me a fanatic if you want to but I have a feeling Prince the man ain't 100% bad either - flawed of course, (WE ALL ARE to some degree!) but not ALL bad. And it's REALLY funny that ANYONE who thinks there's an ounce of humanity in him is automatically labeled a blind, ass kissing fanatic. Everything is black & white, this or that, no gray area in this mutha & everybody's judging everybody - how fucking appropriate...

Cosmos is a treat. Also Fate, Emancipation Proclamation, Fantasia, Dreams, and Deposition are clearer sounding studio boots. MP3's are a step backwards, people.
Older boots are better as they were never sourced from mpegs.

I do not condone bootlegs though... just sayin'.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
