Exactly! Would love to see him pay tribute.
I can't even imagine how he must've felt, they were good friends.
He and Prince rocked the stage.

I just watched Stratus/All Shook Up from 2009 Montreux Jazz Festival. His playing and the tightness of the band is as good as you'll ever see period. I want that tribute.

As a side note it still blows my mind that on Rolling Stones's list of greatest guitar players of all time they ranked Prince in the 30s, behind Joey Ramone. Are you f'ng kidding me. eek

Yeah. I just don't get why we've heard nothing at any of the tributes from him confused Maybe he did something at one of his own shows that I'm not aware of, but if he appeared at the Grammys to perform for this it would be wonderful.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

Ive been keeping a close watch on youtube videos rogifan....

As time goes by more and more people are being BLOWN out of their MINDS by what they are coming to learn about Prince when he Plays his guitar.......

One would think that Rolling Stones would know their Sizzle...but in all fairness...Prince was responsible for keeping himself very UNDEREXPOSED......now that more footage has been released, there wont be much room for argument....

Prince has still not yet reached the Pinacle of his fame.........

--Plenty of footage of Prince was avalible before he passed away. In addition, he did nothing but play guitar on the last tours with 3rd Eye Girl.

Oh please. Rolling Stone is the Time magazine of music. They have an industry pecking order that has way more suits than music lovers involved in their "selection" process.

All of these tributes basically ignore Prince the rocker. Where's Lenny Kravitz giving us a kick ass version of When You Were Mine?

This, but I'd like to see him there doing something Prince. Was he ever involved in any of the musical tributes? I can not remember seeing anything he performed at.

In all fairness and sincerities, he loved jazz music.🎹🎷🎶 So I would go from there. I would love to see a jazz version tribute of one of his songs. Since it is, "The Grammys", it should be a platform for them to honor music of all types.🎼
In all fairness of him being a real rocker,🎸you might also look into tributing the song he has done with Sheryl Crow? Remember that song? I'm sure you all did since you all claim to be incredibly knowledgeable of every song he has ever produced! 😇
There are tons of songs (other than Purple Rain and the known romantic songs he has performed no one knows he has written) that I would love hearing them perform.
Let's make sure when something gets done, it is at least done in a fair manner! ☺
None of the songs from the "Crystal Ball" album has ever been performed in a tribute. It is like all they tribute are the songs THEY remember. No matter what age group you are in, everyone should be aware that
Prince was a heavily remarkable force as a musician in the industry who molded, shaped and influenced tons of incredible talent we currently see! This is why it is essential to tribute songs hardly anyone has heard.
If you really intend to reach an audience and capture their attention on a musician who was a huge inspiration to others in the industry, I would start by tributing a few songs from every album no one has been exposed to. Then, as a musician, I would put my own spin on the original song and use my own style to perform it. This is how songs that was only exposed to solid fans have gotten popular among people who have never been exposed to this artist's albums.
Start with a brief commentary of working with Prince and a brief description of his career and charity work as well. Let us know what he has done to influence YOU!
Also, I would love to extend my congratulations to all the nominees and artists who will perform as they all worked incredibly hard to create wonderful songs on their albums.

I sincerely doubt there is going to be that much thought put into a prince tribute. They are already doing a huge tribute to the BeeGees and the disco era. So I'm not going to expect much. Less chance of being disappointed
It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

What's crazier is that they did not have him in their Top 100 Guitarists at all when they first did the list a few years prior!

I'm done with the Prince tributes. I think Shiela E's performance on the BET awards was about as good as it could get. The best thing about Prince is hearing him perform his music live. I wish they would be brave enough to give the hi definition treatment to Prince's old Grammy performances and just show them in their entirety. That would be the best tribute to his legacy.

^^^^^THIS

Open the show with the 2004 Prince-Beyonce duet.
That's all they need.
That would wake people up.
.
But I'd take Rhe Revolutuon over any other performers.

One special guest, to me, means one person and someone not rumored already. We already know about Beyonce, Gaga, Adele, Bruno, The Time.
