He saved everything. It's all property of the estate or the museum, and some is on display at Paisley Park. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

. He actually kept most of them; the Paisley Park archivist says there are over 6,000 clothing items (including matching shoes) hanging in stage "trunks" and boxed up.
Some duplicate items "found their way" into private hands. There are some in museums. I'd hate to see an auction of his private belongings. His clothing, all custom-made, is historic. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I agree ^^^^ Hope his clothes are not auctioned. How lucky some wound up with the duplicates!

He used to throw a lot of outfits into the crowd in the 80's too. .

. I'm starting to think P was an "organized hoarder". LOL
Seriously, though -- that's the only way to keep your personal property out of the wrong hands. Even tearing down homes is smart if you don't want intruders. The vault and "three other warehouse locations" have been identified so far by Bremer and the estate managers. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I particulary liked flared pants models that Prince was wearing. Anyone know from what kind of material are they made? Today one just doesn't go shopping... trying to find flared pants for men...

His clothing fascinates me I recalled in that interview with the archivist saying also during Purple Rain waist size was 22 and 1/2 inches and the had a hard time finding a mannequin that small to display his clothes. i think that was the Today show interview with Al Roker the day before Paisley Park opened to the public. I also remember another interview with a guy who tailored his suits I think during the Musicoloy tour and he said his waist was 27 inches (same as that interview with Oprah too). He really watched what he ate. He was taking care of himself. The tailor also said Prince wore a doo rag to keep his hair in place and also said his hands would be "beat up" from playing so much. I think he saidsometimes he would slide down the stairs too.

I'm wondering if P bought all of those at the store. His tunics were custom made but those knit flares look off the rack. They'd be a petite woman's size, obviously and worn backwards like he did in the very early 1980s. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

A beautiful coffee table book of photos of his clothing, shoes, hats, canes, accessories and jewelry would be lovely.

I would love to see a touring Prince exhibition done in the excellent way "David Bowie Is..." was done. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
