Question RE: Live from Paisley Park (NPGMC era) On the song Letitgo (from the ep from the NPGMC days), you can distinctly hear (low in the mix) Prince singing "bang bang bang on the ..." right before the last chorus. Does anyone know if this was an overdub he did around the time of the ep's release, or is that from the live concert at PP? I know during this time ('94?) Barbarella and Hayes did a lot of samples on the keys, but in my mind, I always thought the idea of Prince revisiting tunes before the fans heard them, and playing a lick here, or singing a note there, was dope. . . . Also, today marks 14 years, 7 months and 7 days on the org!

This was originally released in 2001 as part of the original NPGMC, and the per4mance is from 1995. I don't have the 2005 rerelease but I believe it to be similar (though better sounding maybe?). Princevault definitely says it's similar. I'm not sure I can hear what u're talking about but I hear no obvious overdubs. I do not not believe it was overdubbed but of course in P's world everything is possible. I don't have it but I think I remember the original show was available on bootlegs from an audience recording, so it should be possible to compare it to the release. I'm 2 lazy 2 track down the boot from '95, but on the 2005 rerelease, eye hear (via headphones) the prechorus (as sang on the original off of Come), and then very low in the mix, another voice, either buried in the mix intentionally, or possibly retained from the per4mance, singing the last sentence before the final chorus. Could b that Prince was near the mic, but not front and center. Also? You say from the '01 Ncarnation of NPGMC. Remind me: as part of an Ahdio show?
