It's quite possible he didn't think it was a fun song to play any more, and maybe he grew to dislike it? He brought back tons of other songs over the latter years. Maybe because it was based on a melody witten by his father? Was that detail real? My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Yep, but just not as good as the 6.7.1984 show

Second hand knowledge, there are several songs he didn't want to perform live including Computer Blue, Lady Cab Driver, Live 4 Love and Wild & Loose (for example). Very hard to play live and his perception was they didn't sound as cool live.

That makes no sense to me for this song since the studio version of Computer Blue is basically a live style band arrangement and performance. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

"....blah... blah...blah... I'm a Prince fanatic with a theory who thinks they know more than you, in typical Prince fanatic fashion. ...blah...blah....blah.......".
give me a break on the "wouldn't sound as good elsewhere" ..... "someone played a solo earlier, so it wouldn't sound as good live" utter foolishness.
Not It At All.
He didn't want to. And, Done.

I don't know, but I can only imagine how great 'Computer Blue' live with 3rdeyegirl would have been. Hundalasiliah!
