It's quite possible he didn't think it was a fun song to play any more, and maybe he grew to dislike it? He brought back tons of other songs over the latter years. Maybe because it was based on a melody witten by his father? Was that detail real?

he never did Darling Nikki as well as in 1985/84 nor Erotic City I feel

I'm glad Computer Blue was not done live again... unless it was with them.

My live and all the studio takes give me joy
I don't think he did America either, and not Mountains until 2011 in a little piece

.

He performed most or all of those longs after the 80s.

I didn't say he did not perform any of these

I don't think he did America again though.

I know, he also did Darling Nikki on a Rave year tour
I said "he never did them as well ...I feel"

Erotic City was never played during the Nude Tour as far as I can remember. It was however played as the opening song of the Lovesexy tour every date (Escape/Erotic city).

Yep, but just not as good as the 6.7.1984 show

Second hand knowledge, there are several songs he didn't want to perform live including Computer Blue, Lady Cab Driver, Live 4 Love and Wild & Loose (for example). Very hard to play live and his perception was they didn't sound as cool live.

That makes no sense to me for this song since the studio version of Computer Blue is basically a live style band arrangement and performance.

StopIt

"....blah... blah...blah... I'm a Prince fanatic with a theory who thinks they know more than you, in typical Prince fanatic fashion. ...blah...blah....blah.......".

give me a break on the "wouldn't sound as good elsewhere" ..... "someone played a solo earlier, so it wouldn't sound as good live" utter foolishness.

Not It At All.

He didn't want to.

And, Done.

I don't know, but I can only imagine how great 'Computer Blue' live with 3rdeyegirl would have been.

HUH

Computer Blue & Lady Cab Driver on the Purple Rain tour on the 1999 tour were alive and electric
Computer Blue which also consisted of full band studio recordings and the live rendition in 83 "This song is called Computer Blue" you can tell Prince loved the song.
