Prince Was in Talks With Netflix For Reality Show I hope this has not already been posted, couldn't find anything, though:
. "Dearly beloved, after Prince's untimely death at the age of 57 earlier this year, we'll always wonder what might have been. What else would he have written? Would he have done more episodes of New Girl? Well, one of those lingering possibilities comes from GQ's compilation of reminiscences from Prince's friends and colleagues. Maya Washington, a photographer Prince befriended, mentions a Netflix show about Paisley Park."
.
Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

Have anybody seen that Purple Rain is now in Netflix?

The article has been posted twice already, but personally, I don't believe Maya's, (aka, "Lovesex is my jam") version of anything. I think like many associates lately, she makes up stuff as she goes along. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

No!!! Don't shatter my illusions! Prince was going to do reality TV? Please. Somebody tell me there would've been a good reason for this. A TRULY good reason.

Ok, I already thought of a couple: To help forward the careers of those he supported there (Judith Hill etc) To let people see inside the Park because he wanted to start opening up

Seems pretty unlikely Prince would do a reality show.

Hopefully this story isn't true.It would have been awful to see Prince jump on the celebrity reality show bandwagon That would have been beneath him

I disagree. I think done right (more like a docu-series than a trashy Kardashian esque reality show) it could have been an excellent platform to get the music of some of his upcoming proteges, young producers etc heard by a wide audience. Also would have been great for business. There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️

I am skeptical, would want to see some proof of that. But knowing Prince he could have suggested it and pulled out last minute - that is his style too. Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

I would have liked to have seen Prince do something more along the lines of "Live At Daryl's House".I really enjoy watching that show.

the "Lovesex" comment was so embarassing... Prince 4Ever.

It's not outside the realms of possibility that an idea for something was floated, but to call it 'reality' is probably stretching it even for reality TV, Prince couldn't even released a live show without tinkering with it to hell. I doubt any idea that was pitched would've been the Paisley version of Honey Boo Boo or Real Housewives of Chanhassen.

I really want the media to avoid asking Maya anything because she ends up sounding like a dingbat every time she opens her mouth. She is a professional YouTube personality so if anything she was probably trying to urge Prince to do a reality show so she could be on it.

The show was supposedly going 2 be about Paisley Park and other artists he has helped. He didin't want 2 b on camera. If you've watched Maya's video, you'll know what I mean. I'm not 1 4 reality tv either, but I highly doubt it would have been the "reality" on tv we see now. It would have been for the good of moving music forward...and I think it was a beautiful idea. Forget that it was marketed as "reality tv". It was about the music. Still is. <3

Ah Yes The Great Paisley Park... That Mythical Place that was churning out hits and legends in 2016-16 like Motown in it's heyday! I can TOTALLY see netflix wanting to do a reality tv show about it... (minus Prince).. What a brilliant idea...
'The Get Down' who? | |
