PS: Oppression of women is horrific and it does exist among Muslims, it can't be denied - but, honestly, gender oppression exists across religions as well as agnosticism and atheism and there are lots of Muslim feminists that fight it.

How is that any different than a Catholic who attends church every Sunday but supports abortion and gay marriage (believe me plenty of these Catholics exist)? So Prince didn't adhere to JW teachings when it came to sex. I can think of a lot worse things.

Gay marrage and abortion are much deeper topics than "Shall I sing about oral sex tonight?". I don't doubt his belief in God. I don't doubt he enjoyed studying the bible... I just don't buy him being 100% into the JW lifestyle.

Is that the gay hating, slave owning Christian values? (I can't even begin to start listing all the horrible things people do in the name of christian values).

All religions are as bad as each other but what you have put there is tantamount to hate speech, (and quite possibly demostrates how brainwashed you are) or is that something that's allowed now that Trump is in charge?

I have been wondering too why Prince didn't leave his wealth and assets to JW? Most people would left their assets and wealth to their place of worship. He thought so highly of them. But then again Prince was no ordinary guy. I believed Prince quietly distance himself from JW toward the end of his life.

I know Vanity left majority of her wealth to her church.

Sometimes you are just born believing something that goes against everything you've been taught. For example, I was raised either in a Pentecostal or Baptist church (it varied dependent upon the age/year and which family member was taking me to church). Neither of these churches believed in reincarnation, but I did. I didn't have a word for it, but I remember telling friends that I could not believe a God of Love would allow His children about 70 years in which to "get it right" and then punish you for eternity if you didn't. I know as a loving parent, there is nothing my children could do that would cause me to disown them, throw them into a hell, for eternity (keep in mind we're talking trillions and gazillions of years) just because they made mistakes the first 70 years of their lives. I would question the pastors/preachers at my church and they would get on to me for questioning, because "sometimes you just have to accept it and don't question it". But, I believed that we would keep coming back until we got it right. I didn't know it was called reincarnation until I was much older.

So, I always had these beliefs that went outside of what I was taught, things that I just knew were true, though I had never read about them, studied them, but I knew it in my heart. Then, in 1998, I found the website Love4OneAnother and cried as I went through and read everything on that website because I remember thinking, "He's got it. Everything I've ever believed but couldn't put into words, this man has put it into words." Then I ventured into The Holy River chatroom and met a friend there that introduced me to Eastern teachings. I must have asked him a million questions over the course of several years. I was insatiable. He sent me The Bhagavad Gita and I remember telling him, "This is what I've been looking for. This is what I've always believed." None of what I believed had ever come from my church or family members or even friends, it was just something I'd always believed and somehow knew.

Prince sang, "And if the truth feels like a memory, you know it was meant to be." Maybe, it was just something he'd always believed, too, and a friend eventually turned him onto Eastern teachings, or he stumbled on them himself. But, regardless, it's always been there, in his writings, his music, it wasn't something he just came to towards the end, he had it in the beginning.

I'd seen info before about this. I guess what confuses me is why was she running a gofundme account for medical expenses if she had funds socked away and apparently had enough of them to leave to the church?

that's a good question. That doesn't make sense. I've also always wondered, why, if she had a Gofundme acct for her medical expenses and for (I think if Im not mistaken) and upcoming surgery she needed, why Prince didn't donate? I know he gave to a lot of other causes. Did he not know about her needing $ ?

I have read that he reached out to her and helped her at this time...There is a handwritten note he sent her while she was in hospital floating aroud somewhere
