Donna Grantis talks Prince & Playing Funk
Over the past few years, I’ve had the incredible honor to learn the nuances of funk from a true master: Prince. Performing as a member of 3RDEYEGIRL and the New Power Generation was the experience of a lifetime. I was schooled at the “university” of Paisley Park and spent hours grooving with my fellow musicians on the most disgusting—in the best way possible—jams.

Given she's mostly talking about music it'd have been cool if it'd been a video interview but still interesting.
I wonder if some of what she says here is directly quoted from things Prince said to her? [Edited 12/17/16 11:16am] |

I love Donna! For someone so young and relatively unknown at the time it took guts for her to get on stage with Prince considering the unfair comparisons and criticism she would get from some of his fans. I always felt she held her own. She's cool and seems to have zero ego issues. Go Donna! Beautiful and talented young woman imo It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN |
