That clip is on the Nude Tour pro-shot from Japan, not the Omnibus doc.

Thank you. I was trying to remember where it was from before I posted. It really is fun stuff.

I don't remember if it was this or something else (The Prince of Paisley Park?), but there's a quick shot from the 2nd floor of the atrium, and you can see Prince - dressed in joker green (my definition) - struttin' down the hall, heels click-clacking. It's just a couple of seconds, but such a neat little piece of Prince just roaming around, or headed somewhere.

.

The part you mention was from a BBC show called 'Behind The Beat' shown in 1988 - much earlier than the Omnibus / Prince Of Paisley Park docus.

.

Before the shot of Prince they also spot Sheila strolling around Paisley: "Run Sheila, Run!" - 1:20 & 1:15 respectively in this video:

https://youtu.be/fK5R4yvEZLA?t=1m15s

.

It then has a short clip of Femi Jiya working on a remix of Lovesexy.

.

The show is short but definitely worth a watch. We didn't get a huge amount of Prince on the TV back in the day and it was fascinating to get a glimpse inside Paisley and at all the different functions there (wardrobe, car shop, etc). I had this show on VHS and wore it out.

.

I remember back in the 80's whenever I seen Femi Jiya in the liner notes I thought it was a chick lol

To be fair, this is footage from one of the most well known TV documentaries on Prince from the time. But there are a lot of new fans here this year, so it's nice to get a reminder. I think if it was posted with a little more context you wouldn't get the old guard thumbing their nose at it - The thread title provides little context and could be taken as meaning new, previously unseen footage - some of which has begun to surface recently. As always, context is key smile

Precisely my point. I used 2 absolutely LIVE on this site, but it's the pervasive snarkiness that eventually made me throw my hands up and walk away. I like 2 visit every now and then just 2 check in, but un4tunately, as soon as I do, I find a post like this where 1 of the 1st responses is somebody treating another fan like they r just some bumbling novice and their enthusiasm is not worth the effort they went through to read the post in the 1st place. I keep hoping Matt and Ben will bring about some changes in that respect...looks like I'll just need 2 keep hoping.

I live for the Lovesexy era and I have seen this before but so what if Latin chose to post it. Maybe some others have not seen it as some have posted. No one should dictate that things should not be posted just cuz they think everyone as seen it...wrong.

Latin, I appreciate and I know others do on your posts. You are positive and definately have love for Prince. So thank you for posting this, luv it!

I have never seen the footage without the commentary. There were some great snippets that I don't remember seeing before like Prince talking to Mavis in the studio. I think that clip was longer and you could hear it better. I don't quite remember Prince on the drums with George Clinton and being able to hear it like that. Thanks to the original poster for making it available. I would kill for the complete tapes for these recordings.

I think that some of the newer fans will enjoy seeing this for the first time. It is easy to forget that as Prince fans, we've been given a wealth of material to enjoy over the years.

I've seen this dozens of times, and yet I haven't watched it since April 2016. Thank you for the reminder of how amazing he was, and for posting it to include those out there who may have missed it because they got to the party after us.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

It only shows the need for people to be an OP (we're in Warholians times all right).

There's nothing wrong with noobies, there's something wrong about people not being able to use the Org's SEARCH FUNCTION, or plain Google in 2016.

What good is a discussion if it's duplicated, triplicated, photocopied to death?
As readers, we just lose stuff or are forced to repeat ourselves on the same subject over and over.
It just makes the Org look like a big mess. Part of its charm, probably...

It's not complicated: no matter how old the original thread is, adding your reply to it will bump it in the list, and will make it visible for others to pick up.

As a small technical side-effect, the poor old database has to deal with yet another entry, and the server's hard drive consumes an extra watt that could have been spared.

I mean just look at all this stuff:

http://prince.org/msg/7/325940

http://prince.org/msg/7/337941

http://prince.org/msg/7/155259

...and the list goes on.

Web users laziness asides, I'm glad for the ones that just discovered this gem.
We get an insider's look at Prince in his ultimate state of grace.

I don't think you can still respond to older threads. Recently, I've seen threads from just a few weeks ago that do not allow comments.
