. I have to admit that as much as I admire and respect Prince, I couldn't have been this patient with his games as this guy was. Most probably I would've just walked away much sooner. I couldn't work for someone who refuses to talk to me, this is a game I wouldn't find funny at all.

Yep. Prince came off totally insecure and petty here. God, what the hell happened to P that made him so insecure around males he didn't know well? He really was testing people back then. However, I must say that the abundance of 1990's stories are a bit irksome and one-sided for a tribute to Prince.
Seems like he didn't trust this guy at all and I am curious as to why? Did he think he would talk to the press? I wander what would have happened if more people had told him to fuck himself? Would he have appreciated the honesty or just had the dude escorted off the grounds.
I did kind of like the story about the kids though. MOst of the story I find a bit depressing. Thank God that one artistic director who took pictures of P is putting out a table book. It doesn't sound like Prince fucked with him too much. What was his name?

Nah, he just did not trust this dude. Maybe he knew something about him since he was from his old neighborhood. I think he liked fucking with people's head especially dudes. I almost think he simply wanted to be the Alpha Dog and did not want a lot of dudes around/

I would have been tempted to whisper stuff to my friend, who could then communicate with whomever Prince was whispering to.

He already was the alpha male due to his status etc. Why the hell would he be threatened by a graffiti artist? these tactics were such a waste of time and energy that something tells me he was projecting something onto this guy.
There were tons of dudes at Paisley (the macho Game Boyz for example). Why pick on this guy but also stalk him and hide away from him. He seemed extremely weary of the guy.

I'm wondering why this guy kept going back for more trolling? In the article, he moved to Chicago just to find a new way back into the circle. His behavior sounds like an obsessed stalker fan. Prince sounds like a pain but he was very aware of the people that approached him. He probably detected some sort of motive or was uncomfortable by the lengths he knew this guy would go to, just to be near. Almost sounds like a crush that couldn't get worked out.

I enjoyed reading that. Prince sure was unique. 🙂

I think Prince was just being Prince. When I said that he was "a mess," that is meant as a term of endearment. I think this was just a phase he was going through. I remember that he did an interview with African American model Veronica Webb. He was surrounded by Mayte, Kirk, and perhaps one other NPG member. His face was covered and he would not speak aloud. He whispered his answers to Mayte, who spoke for him. It was all very playful and fun. [Edited 12/6/16 19:51pm]

I think Prince was just a prankster. He must have liked the guy; otherwise, he would not have allowed him in his inner circle. I really enjoyed reading the story.

Yah that was just weird. Weird Prince--pranking or no! I can understand how that Peyton Russell guy was feeling put off. Perhaps the entertainer WAS being intimidated by the artist at times--funny to think it, though--and being pranked part of the time, yet being left clueless 100% of the time to what the real deal ever was. The invitation to the schoolchildren was a very warm touch, though. > I wonder how the artist's close encounter with PP security concluded on that fateful party night?

As more stories come out from people it seems that prince was mean/harder towards men, from this dudes account ,Tommy barbarella, and the paisley park employee dude story from YouTube. I love prince but prince can be irksome . [Edited 12/6/16 23:42pm]

Evidently he did not always feel like the Alpha male. Did you forget he was only 5'2. He actually knew the Game Boyz from his neighborhood and they were close to his age.
Besides you can't stalk someone when you own the venue. I think he did not trust the dude.

[Edited 12/6/16 23:42pm] Hard to compare 90s Prince to the last decade or so. He mellowed out a lot. Watch this interview from his keyboard player Cassie. I believe she started working with him in 2009 or so. http://abcnews.go.com/Ent...d=38619160 [Edited 12/7/16 8:21am] Paisley Park is in your heart

I so would not have had the patience to deal with P's shenanigans. I probably would have told him, his handler and his bodyguard an earful right before I walked off and never looked back.

I especially loved the part where he was mentoring her on the keys saying she needs to tell a story and it's not about how many notes you play as you're not playing for your fellow musicians you're playing for the audience. This part made me laugh so hard: At this point, such ludicrous games are common, with Russell playing the role of unwilling participant. One day, Russell can’t shake the feeling he’s being watched. He scans the Paisley atrium, sees nothing, and gets back to work. But the hairs on his neck are standing up, so he turns around again and looks closely. Then he sees them: the whites of Prince’s eyes. “Shit! He’s staring at me through a plant,” Russell says to himself as he reticently nods toward the hiding superstar, who then glides away. Forever In My Life, forever in my heart. I love you Prince Rogers Nelson
