Oh wow
I think I would have loved this album if it had more of this live sound.

prince's standards were so high he used to always tell his musicians, "it has to be better live" a lot of the time it really was and that's very difficult to achieve. You cannot compare to the perfection of the recording studio so you have to rely on other elements to make a live show better. I like the additional parts of the song that aren't on the album version, a song which i always thought was unremarkable, is a great song in this clip with lots of good, extra funk.

The great director Scott McCullough posted the following on YouTube on Dec 8, 2016: "Not intended for monetary use, this is for the fans of footage that was released for the tour and not seen. I shot, directed and edited this for Prince for the Diamonds and Pearls Tour Film. Partially finished music video with only one of three cameras. Please do not rip because you guys don't credit the work. www.scottmcculough.com" Check it out here: https://m.youtube.com/wat...fal0oASpbc

but the dancing is great in that, just relentless, i never really liked daddy pop that much either but i really liked it here. especially the bridge near the end, i'd never even noticed it in the lp version before but it's extra funky.

It was very kind of director Scott McCullough to choose to share the footage with Prince fans/fams.

i think everyone wondered about that one, big time. I still remember as clear as day watching that, and you know, Prince had really been sort of off the entire map since Purple Rain and Diamonds and Pearls was his big commercial concession. There were full page ads about the arsenio show and I thought he was simply brilliant throughout but as my man was going through the show I was like "ok, ya, he's doing it, he's showing everyone, ya, right on," then, as soon as he did that I thought "uh oh, he just lost it". What was there to wonder about? Prince new the enoughof his ass...in all its round, firm bubble glory. He certainly talked about it enough. He also appreciated the lustful gaze he got from both men and women alike. Admiring a nice ass is notoriously mens' domain. This clip exemplifies how Prince courted that type of attention no matter where it came from. He lived it and was down for it. Go Prince... Throw it on 'em and make 'em squirm!!! Tease 'em with it 'til Daddy pops!!

That dance move, coupled with the infamous yellow "butt-out" outfit, had me groaning for the same reason. I didn't personally care or find them offensive, but it was just more ammunition for those who were looking for reasons to not like him. I just rolled my eyes at the TV when those incidents happened. I loved every testosterone charged, man on man second of it! So grateful I had Prince growing up. He like no one else taught me how to drive the boys wild and leave them panting and sweating while begging for more! Throw that thang Prince!
