Can anybody take the place of our man?... Anyone heard Donald Glover? Tried to listen to Redbone, couldn't make it to the end... Prince influence so strong made me miss him more. Sorry you can lock me because I know I'm in the wrong forum. Just was wondering if others had a similiar reaction. | |

I had not heard of him.. Im listening to Redbone right now...
I dont like the image he has up..Why the White Voodoo eyes...scary....
Hes tryna do a prince Screech..not a bad effort...waiting for the CHiLLS im used to getting ...
not happening...
The track is ok...but Im in state of waiting...waiting...
NON prince fans might get into this..but Im now at the end and it felt like a dirge...

Nobody can, but that is not to say there is not some great talent out there. It is just that Prince was so much more that his undisuputed talent to us. I could never have the same emotional attachement to another Artist. Prince has been part of my life since 1984. Nothing will ever replace this. I have accepted that I need to move on, but Prince will always be "The Man". | |

It's a struggle to listen or watch somebody else, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons by buying a vinyl player and trying different artists etc, but I just end up going back to Prince! |

. Yeah sometimes I wonder how much of Prince's majesty was due to me being young when first getting into his music and how much was because he was that awesome. Maybe his music changed my brain chemistry so I liked him even more? . But no, mostly he was just that good...that incredible and there won't be anyone like him in our lifetime and probably never. Maybe in the next 1000 years, but humanity isn't going to make it nearly that long, so that's not an issue. | |

No one can and ever will take the place of our man Prince, at least not to all of us here. He was one of a kind, unique and special. No artist in my mind can ever take the place of Prince or will even come close. I have listened to all sorts of different artists from all genres of music since I was little. I grew up in a very eclectic house when it came to music, I could listen to whatever I wanted and I did. I have been to numerous concerts of varying music genres as well. And I still listen to all sorts of music, new and old. And I can say without a shadow of a doubt no one person or band can ever top Prince. He had it all. And it cuts like a knife that he is now gone and cannot produce anymore. We are blessed to have all his music and concerts and films to enjoy till the end of our days. I also feel no one could ever top his musical output and creativity and unique sensibilities.

I have never been moved by another entertainer the way that Prince has moved me. Even as a pre-teen/teenager his was the only celebrities's picture that's ever graced my walls. I went through phases of being into other entertainers but eventually they were all forgotten. Prince was NEVER forgotten. Even when I wasn't buying every album, he stayed on the surface of my heart for 30 years! His influence was unique. He bought out the most intense admiration. He was a prolific genius and his fans knew it. If you were a fan of his from the 80's, there was nothing for it... You were his for the duration. That's how deeply he touched. Simply irreplaceable...
