I'm a 49-year-old gay male who's been obsessed with Prince since I was a teen. Over the years many of my straight friends have made joking comments about me "realizing my ultimate fantasy" and sleeping with Prince. They are always surprised and confused when I tell them I would never have sex with Prince as I am not at all sexually attracted to him. The confusion is due to the fact that I have always commented on how absolutely BEAUTIFUL I think the man was. At his best, Prince was a stunning-looking human being. (first of all, it's still weird and hard to say or write; "Prince has or had...") - I'm also a 49/50 year old gay person, mad about Prince since 1982. But sexualy attracted to Prince ? Never ! Prince has a cute smile, but certainly isn't my type of guy. Yuck! Prince, has a macho way of being that certianly did not live up to my fantasy, espicially not with the type of clothes: kitschy gay-clothing he wore. He seriously got away with his carnavalesque way of dressing as a hetero sexual. It made him 'interesting' on many levels and that's my view on 'him as a musician'. (...it's also the only way most of us knew him I think...) He was exactly the way he described himself with healthy irony: "a skinny motherfucker with a high voice". - I once read an article on him and David Bowie, and how those two hetero men freed the way for all 'freaks' in the world. Now that's exactly the way it is, and let's be very very thankful for that ! Gender(mix) or whatever kind of human being you'd like to be these days (anno 2016 and beyond) is whithout a doubt to be thanked to both. They openly talked about it in interviews, were sincere about it, honest (and somtimes not, just to confuse it a bit more...), and actually meant it as well, dispite to the journalists who prefered to have theyr own way of interpretation. - I never ever had sexual fantasies about Prince or Bowie. Prince's female 'sensual' kitsch moves really turn me off big time. But, on the other hand, in a video or on stage, he certainly won me as a fan while seeying him playing/being a true musician the way he absolutely wanted us to see.

BTW, thank you. What you and others call my "way with words" is actually rudeness camouflaged enough in "purple prose" so as to be difficult to consider flame warring, but still a whiff of snark...enough to get right up to the razor's edge without slipping off nor getting cut.
