album of the year yeah... not sure if it was the AMAs or grammys but i saw it.. Prince was in a Lovesexy outfit (i think blue and black with Prince on the leg) and when they showed Prince someone nudged him... but he lost "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!" |

I thought he had on Peach with the glasses and he looked good to me. I don't recall who stole the album of the year Grammy that year. I will go look it up. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Purplethunder 3121 was correct the Joshua Tree took home the best album grammy that year. The really cool thing is that I don't remember Prince winning or being nominated for any other Grammys that year. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed

Unless I missed it, no one has yet listed the two previous Prince albums to be inducted. (No surprises, but still...)
They are:
1999 -- inducted in 2008
Purple Rain inducted in 2011
Edit to add: I see that U2's The Joshua Tree album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2014. Two decades on, the powers that be appear to still hold the album in higher esteem than SOTT. [Edited 11/29/16 10:22am] | |
