Bottom line is, Prince didn't care about money & material things. Besides, the JW believes that a man should not die with wealth. We all know that the love of money is evil. All you have to do is look around, and look at the entertainment industry--it's all about money and greed. Prince wasn't having none of that. Even with all his money, fame, success, he was still "humble", and "down-to-earth". He didn't let any of that change who he was. I love him for that!! heart

Well put.
I don't understand how/why people would take a thred about his charitable contributions and try to twist it.
He was a good person and took care of others.

Let me understand your comment. So, you are saying that Prince (Prince Roger Nelson) DID care about money and material things?

.

If that were the case, then why wasn't he living large, in the most beautiful mansion in Chanhassen. Why was he living at Paisley Park then?

.

He could have lived in the most lavish mansion, with a recording studio, basketball court, swimming pool, and whatnot. But, he chose not to.

.

I think some of you are taking my comments out of context.

Yes, exactly what I'm saying.

Are you saying Paisley Park wasn't a huge beautiful mansion? We're talkin' Chanhassen here, not Beverly Hills. He owned two other homes he lived in as well, which means he had 3 homes he could have lived in at any given time, counting PP. PP could house both his other homes, btw. "Lavish" is left to the individual. When you live in a complex that is as big as PP, with its own recording studio, etc., that's lavish as fuck. PP had a bb court, btw. He had a pool at the Galpin house, btw.

I wasn't trying to take it out of context. To dismiss Prince has a hippy with no thought of this or that is unrealistic. He was one of the largest land owners in the city. That's material things. He kept everything from drum kits to clothing to tour sets. That's material things. PP's electric bill alone was a few thousand a month at least. Plus any staff he had (chef, clothing people, Kim Berry) is money.

It doesn't mean he was trying to build his own Trump Tower everywhere, or open a casino, or anything like that. He wasn't the rich folks in Hunger Games or anything. But he cared enough to live well in what is arguably the biggest house in Chanhassen.

I don't think anyone can claim Prince didn't like nice things but I would argue his homes in Chanhassen were quite modest compared to many celebrity homes. I'm not counting PP as a home. Yes it did have living quarters but it was never classified as residential and is not located in a residential neighborhood; its on the corner of a busy highway. Honestly I think it's cool he chose a city like a Chanhassen to call home when he could have built a huge mansion right on Lake Minnetonka or even left Minnesota for good for some posh LA neighborhood.
Paisley Park is in your heart

I believe that the philanthropic nature of Prince would have been the reason for the LLC being established with the main revenue stream of his lifes work being given to benefit all the charities and projects he wanted ongoing. It seems a very smart way to protect his wishes. Regarding the family included as beneficiaries is not a probability as discussed by informed people due to tax issues. I think the estate that remains outside the protection of the LLC was intended for his family and a will was appropriate for that matter. The lawyer that assisted him in gaining ownership of his Masters and setting up the LLC,that she also now manages, would have known about his intentions with regard to the assets not protected by the LLC, I am assuming.
