I read another interview with the DJ and he said it was around the time Prince attended Coachella. I remember reading that he attended in 2014 so maybe it was around that time.

So cool, has anyone built the playlist in Spotify etc? Let's recreate the date!

I made it a point to listen to the 2 songs that P sent the gal over to ask the DJ what they were, especially the 2nd one cuz he asked it to be played on loop. I wanted to see what P found so compelling about them.

Nice idea. They both had the same beat & tempo and were funky grooves heavy on drums. But I LOVED "Blacker". I saved it to play again. For some reason it made me cry. I think it's because it sounds like music Prince would've grown up with, he isn't here to listen to music he loved anymore, and I got such a close look at what caught his ear. Yes, Blacker is an excellent song to put on repeat. What did you think of the songs?
