This was posted on Facebook. It's an outtake from the poster shoot for the Purple Rain album insert, and the video shoot for "When Doves Cry".

It really was such a smart move to make that poster from that video shoot. It was the lead single, then the album and movie, and when they open the record, it still harkens back to something that became quickly iconic - that video shoot.

I love how they all seem to look like some aspect of Prince BrownMark Bobby Z & Wendy especially in this photo look like Prince

I always loved how Dr. Fink kept the "Dr." vibe going all the way through. His wardrobe didn't change with the many changes Prince went through (like the rest of the band did).

The perspective of the poster always freaked me out a little. Prince was 5'1", yet everyone in the poster seemed so much shorter than him! I mean, if they ever filmed a re-make of The Wizard Of Oz, you had five munchkins right in The Revolution!
