Ka-ma-su-tra

I never heard Kamasutra before.I don't even know what's on that album, but I'm curious. Anybody love it? Hate it? Use it for a coaster for the kool-aid?
And how come nobody ever talks about it?

Dude

Because it isn't that good. But there are a few tracks on it worth a listen. Sorry don't remember the names of them.

Hmm..its not as inspiring as I was lead to believe. The Plan from Emanc had me feening for it. But it def is on some anti music or "this is classical my style" vibe. Half the problem with it is it was released with so many other cds in the package that it gets/got put on the backburner. The other music seemed more accessible and more important. The other half is the material itself. Like it was created quickly or created without much depth or feeling.

It's almost beyond words how bad it is. It's just embarrassing to Prince's legacy. It's a bunch of sounds on a keyboard with one common melody played throughout the cd. By far the worst of the instrumental cd's.

Oh.

Is it like that "hooked on classics" series that was huge way back when? Where they bastardized classical music as a whole (not to mention some John Williams tunes), and put a really atrocious space-aged spin on what was once a beautiful composition? What was it released with?
How did I miss all this horribleness? confuse

It's hit and miss. The best track for me is the Overture, which sticks in your mind long after you've finished playing it. Recommended.

WHEN HE DID HIS CONCERT HERE A FEW YEARS AGO I THINK IT'S MORE MELLOW THAN ANYTHING BUT YOU SHOULD GIVE IT A LISTEN IT'S GREAT!
I'm just a junky for the sound.

Agreed...for all it's beauty, the melody won't go away...

I think it is worth while a listen and I actually like it. the music is very different and that is why I love prince because he always trys to do thinks differently.

¡hopefully, one day may we be able to see the world like it is and not the way we want it to be!

buist

It is somewhat along the lines of his work with Madhouse only it has a more classical tone to it.
It is just another instance where Prince is trying something different and he wants to use all of his talent. I am sure there is more stuff like this in his vault. Those who only like his pop stuff or who are not into classical music, are probably not going to like this.

I would like to know how the music relates to Kamasutra though?

You are absolutely right '73. I played the cd once (when I was having sex) but never listened to it again.

THESE SONGS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FOR MAYTE,AS I READ FROM THE INSERT. THE SONGS ARE SEDUCTIVE LIKE I SAID AND ONE OF THE SONGS ON THE ALBIT IS "A SLOW SCREW UP AGAINST THE WALL" OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE BY CHAKA KHAN, IT COULD JUST AS WELL BE PRINCE'S AND BACK IN THE DAY HE LET HER RECORD IT FOR HER ALBIT, BUT BOTH VERSIONS ARE ALIKE AND MAKE YOU GO OH YEAH!!!
I'm just a junky for the sound.
