This is the Funniest Prince story EVER!

Check This out. I found this on the web by accident. It's funnier than shit. It was written around 98-99? read it and check out the link below.

Purple Rain Rerelease
NEW YORK (Reuters) - With the success of the Star Wars rerelease & positive outlook for the Grease rerelease, Warner Brothers has decided to dust off the 1984 flick Purple Rain and rerelease it in 1999 to mark the film's 15th anniversary. However, it will not be identical to the one that made over $70 Million in 1984. The latest in computer technology will be used to refurbish the aging film. The sound track will be remastered using THX surround sound. To differentiate between the two, the new film will be called 'Purple Rain - 1999' (PR1999).

Much of the computer affects that were used in 'Star Wars-Special Edition' will be used in Purple Rain. Two of these are quite noticeable. First, in PR1999, Prince will be altered so that he is taller. In the original film he was 5'3". In the new film, he will be approximately 5'11" (sans booties). Also, in the same manner that the 'human' Jabba the Hutt was replaced by the 'slug' Jabba in Star Wars, Appalonia will be digitally replaced by his current wife Mayte. Originally, this was to be the only 'swap' , but the Artist was so pleased by the results, he ordered many more to take place. Such swaps include Ellen Degeneris & Anne Heche replacing Wendy & Lisa, Bill Bellamy replacing Jerome, and Drew Carey replacing Billy Sparks.

Many more subtle differences will occur too. Gone will be the purple jacket, paisley, lace & ruffles. The new outfits will consist of merchandise currently available through 1-800-NEW-FUNK. Matt Fink's speech and face will be 'touched up' to make it appear that he can act. be sure to look for some Dewbacks and imperial troopers in the background during the famous Lake Minataka scene with Appalonia (sorry, make that Mayte). However, some proposals were rejected, such as having the words 'The Kid' replaced by the sound 'ShhhKungg' every time they were said.

To celebrate the rerelease. The Artist plans to release 'Purple Ball', a 5 CD set containing music related to Purple Rain. Edits of the 12" versions of 'Let's Go Crazy' & 'I would Die 4 U' will be included as well some never heard remix's such as 'Kirky J's Beautiful One's Remix', ' Shock G's Darling Nikki Mix' and 'Purple Rain(House Mix)'. The first three Cd's will be exactly 31 minutes and 24 seconds long. the fourth CD is an acoustic version of 'Purple Rain', while the fifth is a 'John Tesh meets Yanni' version of Purple Rain. Only 100,000 will be made &will be distributed through the internet only...really.

The promotional effort for the movie will mark the reuniting of The former Prince with Cavallo, Ruffalo & Spickolli. we were able to ask them if they thought this was a risky venture considering prince's up & down popularity and if they thought they could get people back into the theater. Cavallo replied 'I know we can...I have three words for you...Digitally augmented breasts.

I for one think a Purple Rain house mix would be a blast. People would get really pumped on the dancefloor. Get someone like Jonathan Peters to do the mix...

... Prince is back!

The Prince Revival starts here? Time Warner are secretly re-editing and adding songs deleted from Purple Rain, in a secret Arizona studio.

The new songs are believed to be Electric Intercourse, Extra Lovable, These Things, Take Me God! and The Dance Electric.

Prince seems to have cooled down from his dispute with label Warners, and is even talking of recording an album of 80s-style new material ready for the cinema release of Purple Rain: The Truth next summer.
