The Breakdown...etc

Hey Fam

So I had a 5 hr flight last night and I finally listened to PP Piano show (early)...I was also there. It dawned on me that the lyrics to THE BREAKDOWN it finally hit me that I think he was in fact talking about a disease and the breakdown of his body. I went to listen to the main albums of AOA and HnR1, the affirmations, the talk of the "cancer", give me back the time, etc it's starting to make sense...I only wish I could understand what the song JUNE means.

Also how foretelling that someones is calling out..MR NELSON, MR NELSON like trying to wake him up, much like I'm sure what happened that fateful day.

Every mention of time, clouds, etc....it all makes sense. I do belive he knew something and the elevator incidnet was an accident. But I still feel the WILL is somewere...even in the Elevator hidden.

Just my thoughts

Peace

"May U live 2 C the Dawn"

He was a prophet. He did not even understand some of his words, which were prophetic. I also listen to Clouds and think about the similarities with what happened in Moline. I think about the fact that he basically died in Moline and came back and died 7 days later. So much irony. He died on the anniversary pf the day he wrote the lyrics that Tracy died after a long fought civil war. So much more to explore on this topic.

falloff

Dude, Soft and Wet was about the pain he'd be suffering 40 years later.

Sugarcane = drugs
Lover/Baby/Girl = Prince (duh, he was Gemini and was singing to his female half)

Think about it, it's a prophetic drugs song,

Every time I'm with you, you just love me to death

the signs were there from his very first single hammer

Breakdown is simply what he is singing about, emotional wall built up but it's being broken down " See there a door that you can walk through where there used to be wall , I dont care it's cool as long as you catch me baby if theres ever a fall". Too bad he was not in a relationship like the one he was singing about sad
I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

But, I think he was. In fact, I think Art Official Age is about his and Andy Allo's relationship.

makes alot of sense, IMO...ive had somewhat similar thoughts about that...

especially after hearing the Lianne LaHavas passage in "Clouds"... its more than ironic...too many "coincidences"... too many mysteries and lawyers and cops and unanswered questions, for someone who was supposed to be so universally loved...

I think he could have had that, but he pushed her away when he learned of his illness. Sometimes we can be too proud for our own good. It breaks my heart that he died alone. It didn't have to be that way.

"Listen very closely as this story unfolds. This could be the saddest story that has ever been told." This is so much more than a song about a breakup. Many of the songs on AOA broach this topic including Art Official Cage, Clouds, Breakdown, Affirmation and Way Back Home.

I don't think it's about a breakup. I think it covers a lot of ground. It's about past mistakes. I also hear a story of new love, and this new love is "breaking down" the walls (and defenses) that he once erected around himself. If you notice, later, on the album, Andy can be heard saying "Keep breaking you down" in their magnificent ballad "Time." That line, and the verses leading up to it, are included here.

Time

.....Oh oh I think I need u 2 b my girl
Travel with me around the world
Baby baby
So, no paper?
This works out fine
But not half as fine
As when I get time
With u

Sugar have u heard?

I think its 'bout time
That I got time
Alone with u
Cuz ure so fine
When I get mine
Baby u can too

[ANDY]: Keep breaking you down down down

Good catch on Andy's lyric of "keep breaking you down" on Time. I learn something new every day. We all have different perspectives and experiences with his music. Nice to share them and perhaps broaden our own experience.

I agree, donnyenglish. It's good to share our interpretations. That why I keep coming back to the Org. Please know that my perspective on that song has been shaped by hours of listening to "Art Official Age." I can't stop listening to it!! It is Prince like we have never heard him. I don't think I've ever known him to collaborate is such a way that he did with Andy Allo on this album. I think that speaks volumes...and I think he had BIG plans for that relationship. BTW: if you get a chance, be sure to check out this week's Music Monday on Andy's Facebook page. She does a very poignant performance of Oui Can Luv and she talks about how that acoustic album came to be. She's smiling through it, but she seemed pretty emotional toward the end.

My eyes...and ears. Just watching them onstage and listening to their songs. It's undeniable. Prince said it best in "Look At Me, Look At U" on HNR2

Fight it, yes, my soul has tried

When U look at me

All other women just roll their eyes

But even Ray Charles can see U

Stevie Wonder can 2

Thoughts well up and wonder

Thinking about me and U

A dozen fantasies U

Call me won and done

When U look at me

Look at U, look at me

He was not a prophet, he was mortal and followed the JW faith.
He didnt forsee his death as he was making future plans and many have spoken of those plans. Please stop trying to turn Prince into a religion.

Andy kind of confirmed it with her tribute post and picture. Prince made it known he had a crush on her at least at her album listening party in Chicago. I noticed Joshua's dad posted on Andy's old facebook that was still up last I checked-that she and P "had chemistry" hinting they were together which is kind of odd really. lol

I was listening to Music Monday yesterday with Andy Allo and she talks a bit about Prince. At one point she says "when we were together".

Listening to her it's clear to me that they once were a couple.

She is singing False Alarm and Oui Can Love...couldn't help but notice these songs made her a bit emotional. But she's keeping it together.

Really love her, she seems such a sweetheart.

I saw that too.,she was very sweet. She sang another song a few weeks ago that she wrote called Time Heals All Wounds and the lyrics were interesting. At the end she even sang "its breaking me breaking me breaking me down. Pretty song I thought.

Woah, wait a minute!

Pasta (Prince) + Tomato sauce (Blood) = Blood desies

Prince had aids. It's confirmed. ZOMG his lyrics are so revealing! If only I had realised sooner, we could have saved him. sad
