So you're buying the Mp3s? Why would you pay for lesser quality MP3s (a known inferior compression format that actually has an error in the coding that's never been fixed and degrades what you actually hear), when you have the CD version you can rip yourself into lossless or a better lossy format? Seems ridiculous to pay for something you can create yourself, and that is already inferior to the original.
PS If you order it on Amazon, you get it in AutoRip for free anyway, which means you can stream the album on Amazon music for free at-will, or download it. If you buy the MP3 set as well, separately, then you've overspent and bought double.
Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Agreed !!!! And people saying they will buy this but never open it doesnt make any sense to me either - why? I am going to buy and open mine. This will be around forever, you can still buy his other CDs here in Australia (the Hits and B sides etc) for a cheap price - there is no point buying and not opening it and then buying a horrible MP3 version too..........(well that is what I think anyway.......) Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜 |

Well, calm down, yo. I figured by 2016 that everyone knew what an MP3 was. But - it's a teachable moment, so now ya know.
I had a friend tell me about this new music format that he was just crazy about. He emailed everyone he knew. This was 1997, AOL days. I read his email and was like "Who cares." And moved on. Soon after, I learned the difference between a big ass WAV or AIFF file vs. an MP3. Then once I started getting shitastic MP3s on Napster, I learned the difference in bitrates, etc.
But yeah, if you bought it the CD on Amazon, you'll get the MP3s for free. When you seethe AutoRip icon above the album artwork, that's an album that qualifies for the MP3s included. I got them when I ordered the Prince album on vinyl, but not Dirty Mind oddly.
