Because they go by sales; the album could come from any year as long as it sold in the latest period. That is why King of Pop's #1's was the big winner with the AMAs after he died. The same reason that Thriller was up for awards at the AMA for several years. |

I don't know if I can even watch the AMAs tonight. If Prince wins for Purple Rain, that will be great. Yes, the nomination/winner are based on sales. . And of course, as usual TMZ is spreading their negativity, saying that Tyka and the family will be there, in spite of all their bickering. Well.......I did end up watching the AMAs, but I only did it to honor PRINCE!! Let me say, Tyka had me in tears--I was very touched by her beautiful words.
