It's from the NPGMC single "Peace". There was supposed to be a 4th NPG album but it never happened.

I've always assumed it was Morris Hayes or Kip Blackshire doing that voice - I think that exagerated laughter is Prince.

I heard this yesterday. That guy laughing in the background does not sound like Prince...but whoever it is has the most infectious laughter I've heard in a long time!

You can hear Prince inflections once in awhile. Must have been so fun to hang out with him cuttin up.

I think it does - compare to the laughter at the end of The Time's ""Onedayi'mgonnabesomebody", which I'm sure has been identified as Prince.

It sounded like Morris Hayes to me, too. But it probably is Prince.

I haven't been able to figure that out. I'm thinking it's Prince laughing way in the background. I think that's him that says something along the lines of that's enough.

I believe this was confirmed back in the day to be Jonny Blackshire doing the voice, Kip laughing in the background, and Prince also laughing here and there. You can hear Prince ask something like, "What'd he say?" And Jonny answers, "Somebody didn't hear me," which cracks Prince up.

You can also hear him at the end laughing with Kip, and saying, "That's enough," as the poster mentioned above.

That's definitely not Prince. It's DuJuan Blackshire. Watch the Rave DVD. He does the same thing there. Prince is laughing in the background with everyone else.

I always assumed it was him. It sounds like him, and it's on song that he released with him doing lead vocals, so yeah, probably him.

I listened to it again. It seems like Prince says "ok that's enough" Lol Its still funny though. Especially if you've grown up going to a COGIC denomination. Everyone who's been raised that way can impersonate some old grandma who makes the announcements at the front of the church or the deacon, preacher, reverend, etc. Reminds me of Rickey Smiley haha.

Come on folks, not Prince, this is one of the dudes he was hangin with at the time, as a matter of fact, it is the same dude from Rave Un2 The Year 2000 DVD concert during Purple House that has a part in the beginning and ends it with "get your piece in" Maceo. The same exact dude that is in the song clip here saying almost the same thing ......" you gotta get your piece in"

His name is JOHNNY BLACKSHIRE.

Yeah, you can. It probably is one of the Blackshire guys as mentioned herein. Prince's "that's enough" is far off, and not on a mic, which says that it's someone else on the mic. It wasn't Prince.

It really shows, again, Prince's sense of humor that he can let someone poke a little fun at him and not be upset about it. Dude can dish a joke, and take one.

Yes, even back when this came out, I never thought it was Prince doing the preacher parody... I understood it was one of the new singers, and thought it was cool to see Prince thought some self deprecation of his thang was funny.
