I found an interview on SoundCloud from 2013 with Jules and near the beginning of the interview, he says he 'works with Londell' and so there won't be any cease and desist letters coming at him. I haven't finished listening to the entire interview yet.

The ONLY thing I've seen to suggest this isn't legit (legally anyway) is the threads on the org that led to his promotion being deleted. So, it's obvious SOMEONE here thinks it's not legit and is/was afraid of linking to a bootleg. Nothing else indicates this is true. As databank says, this would have been squashed long ago if it wasn't officially sanctioned.

That said, the mixes I've heard so far are so bad that I haven't even bothered to listen to the "EP" that is circulating. The only thing nice I can say is I like the artwork that has leaked. The music, not so much.

Someone was kind enough to share it with me... I listened to the Brother Jules Remix EP...

It is trash. It's hard to believe this is by someone who knows or even likes Prince's music. Terrible, terrible, mishmash random remixing with no sensitivity or vibe at all.

I'm glad I didn't pay for that shit.

And the letter pleading support for his release instead of 4Ever is abysmal behaviour.

Makes me want to buy 4Ever more, just to spite this hack.... in fact, maybe it's reverse psychology at work !

Either way, that shitty remix EP got deleted quick before it could contaminate my music hard drive.

No mods have claimed that Jules' releases aren't legit, they just say that as long as there is a margin of doubt, they won't allow links.

Now why is there a margin of doubt? Because some people here suggested there is in the first place.

Hopefully relations between the Org and whomever is in charge of the estate will be better than relations with prince were. I hope the estate will reach out to us and that Ben and the mods can stop living in fear of a C&D or 1M lawsuit threat.

The fact that the websites archives website has been suspended within days of its birth shows that the estate is watching. Even if Jules had been insane enough to attempt such a project without permission, he would have been shut down long ago.

though in all fairness to Brother Jules i should upload my Amiga 1200 Octamed remix of Housequake to the internet - being only 4 channel 8 bit it would fit inside a large jpeg with machine level instructions to spontaneously take over your graphics card and audio card but i'm not a balls out russian hacker that can do that because i don't work for MI5!
