Prince the America B side The song Girl from the America single has always been one of my favorite B sides. It features Vanity on the 12" version and has always been one of the lesser talked about B sides.ATWIAD was inspired by his exposure to the psychedelic era. This particular album has always been called the Sgt. Pepper of his career. Obviously influenced by The Beatles who thinks this song could have been Prince's take on the Beatles song of the same name?

It features Vanity? I don't think so
Cool song tho.. always loved it. The only part i do not like is on the 12" version were he says.. "You're ass is so tight... shhhh...pop" is the pop sound suposed to be insinuating?? I will take my place, In the great below

I just looked the song up and it states that on the 12" version her voice is backmasked toward the end of the song. I try not to make false statements on here. [Edited 11/5/16 22:31pm] "love's the only drug we do in here"-Prince

Is include a less stronger word? The most unique and interesting track is not even a Prince composition(the title track) yes he wrote the lyrics im sure. So if the rest of the album is a recreation of earlier tunes I guess the intro to The Ladder is the Lets go crazy guitar solo. "love's the only drug we do in here"-Prince

Given that Girl goes back to 1982, long before Prince began working on ATWIAD, I doubt it has anything to do with the Beatles. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

It got put in a collection with songs that were meant to come off as psychedelic. Although it was written in 82 coincidence Prince dug it out the vault for the 85 album. The whole album listening event back then was described as very 1969 "love's the only drug we do in here"-Prince
