Lucky to be alive during Prince's career:) Growing up in the MTV era those of us in our teens got to see history unfold before our eyes just like generations before us and after us will. Prince as a entertainer gave us so many moments where you were glad to be alive to witness it first hand. An early one of mine is the award show performance of Baby in star with Prince jumping off stage and leaving through the audience while the band is still playing and the stage packed with his security behind him the bare chest the diamond necklace the lace pants the audience on their feet I Knew that night I had witnessed history.... any particular Prince moment through his career that made anyone else feel that way?

I feel very fortunate to have been alive during Prince's very long tenure in the music business. When will we ever see another artist release an album almost every year for 40 years? It's incredible facts like this that the general public really doesn't know about Prince. I think that's why it's so difficult for hard-core fans to deal with Prince's death. He's always been here for many of us. Since I started listening to Prince in 1982, I've always known there would be a new album, EP, or single ever year. I bought everything from 82 onward on the first day of its release. I've seen Prince play at least 75 times in clubs, at arenas, and at private parties. It's sucks knowing it s all over. It was an incredible run that I thought would go on for at least another 20 to 30 years. [Edited 11/5/16 18:04pm]

Yes I always felt certain that Prince would have a very long career of say a Miles davis,B B king or Willie Nelson it wasn't in the cards for us as Prince fans but what he left us will last me the rest of my life:) [Edited 11/5/16 18:29pm] "love's the only drug we do in here"-Prince

Oh my goodness, this thread brings back lots of memories. I remember when MTV was first on, my brother and I would watch it every day when we got home from school. My parents said that we weren't allowed to watch that channel. Mind you I was 17 at the time. LOL. So when we heard the parents in the driveway coming home, we would flip the channel off of MTV, so they'd never know......until the 1 day when my step-dad came home and he hit 'back' on the remote and yep it went back to MTV. We got into so much trouble. So we learned that when we watched MTV, we would flip the channel twice, so when he hit back, it wouldn't be on MTV.
We loved it. I loved Prince and Michael. My brothers liked Heart. LOL

We didn't have cable, so I heard 1999 and Little Red Corvette on the radio. I liked them but didn't actually see Prince until Purple Rain came out. My friends and I went to see it and I was hooked. At age 12, I just LOVED him (and have ever since) 2 sevens together
