but cloning gives no garantees that talent and looks are the same!

The clones hadn't got talent that the original ones had, also the looks were different..... SO NO.

Everybody can be a specialist in something. There are so many factors in play , hat genectis is only a minor part of the total outcome. Don't forget the environment , abuse and interaction of all people around him when he grew up.

I must admit, my first thought when I heard he was cremated was "No! What if they invent something!?" This was an irrational thought during a process of deep grief. A friend of mine felt the same after Bowie was cremated. They're not going to invent anything. He is gone and it's sad, and such is life, and there it should rest. The sadness is beautiful in its own way.

Actually, I'll like to see him cloned 5 times, and a band formed with all of them. It would be interesting to here what a live performanace would sound when he could have full control and how they would settle creative differences.

I'd be for it.

There is no point. The new version will only end up in a mood and end up writing 'clone' on his cheek in protest.

First, this thread is ridiculous.

Second, a cloned being isn't going to necessarily have the same talent or ability. Most of who we are as people is based on life experiences, not genetics. A Prince clone could end up being a hood rat or a congressman or selling insurance. You can't clone talent.

Identical twins are a perfect example that genes don't dictate everything.

I'm going to reveal my nerd bonifides here, but: In this very week's issue of the The Amazing Spider-Man comic (#20), on the very first page, Spider-Man has just learned that the recently deceased Doctor Octopus has been cloned and says "I guess Jackal's just cloning everybody, is that it? Couldn't he clone somebody cool, like, I dunno, Prince? No! Let's go for Tubby McPsycho here!"
