Where did Prince live?

I assumed he lived at Paisley Park these last years. Just saw something that said he didn't. So where did he live?

He lived there. The purple house on Kiowa Trail was torn down after John Nelson died. He'd been staying there in this last years.

The yellow house on Galpin was torn down after his divorce from Mani. He still owned both pieces of property, though.

He had a house in the Caribbean, albeit a newer purchase.

He owned other business buildings, and rental property (one on Dakota right near Paisley Park). But he resided at Paisley Park moreso in recent years.

I hate that the yellow house was torn down. There's a lot of it in the "Gett Off" videos, and it seemed like a really nice piece of property. Very private, big, secluded, but not out in the woods somewhere.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Prince had an apartment on the second floor of Paisley Park. Sadly, this will not be part of the public tour but I can understand why. It was his home.

This is actually a better question than most think. One address listed as "residence" on the death certificate (not the press release form) (not the full autopsy report, which has not surfaced) is redacted but the address of where event occured (7801 Audobon, PP) is not.

We may not know about the place he lived (for example, the place where they wanted to describe the contents of his fridge but he would only allow an illustrator for the article not a photographer- the article mentions how secretive they were about the location, published in 2011), although he did presumably spend alot of his time, if not most of the last years at PP, living upstairs and working downstairs.

Listen to me closely as the story unfolds
This could be the saddest story ever been told....

That fridge article was just an April Fool's day joke... lol http://heavytable.com/wha...es-fridge/

I am recalling a few stories the last year or two where they referred to PP as his home. I am pretty sure at least one of those was mentioned here... and it made for a little debate.

The video shows Brian Hiatt who interviewed him in 2014 saying it was a common misconception that Prince lived at PP. He crashed there. He says Prince lived 20 mins away, in a house. So where did he live?

It's obvious he had a residence there and probably "crashed" there more than not. If he was as edgy and anxious as he was on April 20, according to those who saw him, then why would he go back to PP to crash? If he was uncomfortable or needing some rest, he'd probably go his alleged house, but he didn't. He went to PP, because that was home. He was dropped off by himself. We know the rest of that story.

Also, the list of properties that he owned after he died, none of them were where he lived. They were business properties (possibly storage facilities), or houses other people lived in (family, or rental properties). After the yellow house was demolished when he divorced Mani, he didn't really have a home otherwise. He rented the 3121 mansion in 2006. And his home in the Caribbean was only purchased in the last couple of years.

For the longest time I thought he lived on Dakota, because I got wind of it when he bought that house. But turns out, it was just a rental property. If you put this into Google Earth, it will come up: 44°51'28.46"N 93°31'27.71"W The aerial view is March this year, but the street view is two years ago, so someone else owned it then.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I know Prince spent most of his time at PP, but I always wonder where he "lived". He owned several properties around Chanhassen, but I wonder which one? He sure kept it a secret, because you would think that locals would know.

That way he could have his privacy without people trying to follow him or take pics. Makes perfect sense to me.

.

Agree. biggrin

.

But, it sure would be nice to see where he lived. He owned several properties, so he could probably escape there whenever he wanted to without it being known.

I've heard that, despite what happened there, the Galpin property was his favorite. That he was intending to build his permanent home there, and could possibly be where Tyco scattered some of his ashes.

I believe Trevor Guy also said Prince didn't live at PP but he would often crash there.

His chefs left his dinner in the frig at PP on April 20th, so I'm going with he lived there.

His dad lived in the purple house for awhile but Prince eventually had the house torn down, although the gates (with the peace sign and heart symbols) are still there as far as I know. The yellow house on Galpin - the one with the swimming pool - he tore down not long after the divorce from Mani.

I remember seeing a news briefing when Prince passed. A police officer, I suppose the captain or whoever was in charge saying something about Prince's house. And when he was asked to clarify he stumbled around saying something about they (the police) knew where it was. Made me wonder but I can't make myself look for it or watch it again. Not yet. Maybe never.

The purple house was destroyed too, after Prince's father passed.
