I honestly don't think he was a monk for almost 10 years. He had those young female singers coming in, working on one album, and then he went on to the next one. Jill Jones said that was his routine, so I think he might have been one week on, one week off ...

I think in his later years he strove to be celibate, but he was a sexy vibrant man so it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't always as celibate as he wanted to be. But considering all the years he was private when he wasn't celibate it doesn't make sense to me that he sddenly be so public about being celibate if it wasn't true.

He seemed to be calmer after he became a JW, and not promiscuous as he once was. I think this really threw people off, because Prince was notorious for his sexual performances and music.

I think he tried to abstain from sex, but not sure he did, completely. He spoke out against sexual promiscuity after he became a JW. I don't think a lot of people took him seriously after he became a JW, imo. Prince changed a lot over the years and became more mature, like you said, and I think the bible taught him how to resist certain temptations and to live within boundaries. He still adored woman, that much was obvious, and he certainly always had plenty around him!
