Here in NY Prince is played on a weekly basis amongst the various radio stations. On June 7th thers is usually a station that dedicates the lunchhour to him (it use to be the whole day). Considering all the critics love him in NY , any and all his old stuff is played, i.e. Head, Adore,Sexy Dancer on a regular basis.

Prince's old and new music (Xpectation) is played on 107.5 WGPR in Detroit.

A ton of his early music is played on 90.9 WDTR which is owned by the Detroit Public School system.

Besides there, he's played very loudly from my house wink music

There is a station that comes out of a town over from here, Lake 93.9... It plays things from the 70s til now. Anyways, "Way Back Wednesday's" they play stuff mostly from the 80s, and usually, in about a two hour period, you hear Prince at least 4 times. confused

But on any given day of listening to the station, you hear Prince at least once. Usually it's "Kiss" or "Raspberry Beret."

Yeah, over there at that job, they rock "When doves cry", and I've also heard 'TMBGITW' play also, now that I remember...everytime they play his songs I get in a trance, no matter what is that I'm doing...winkmusic

I do hear his 80's songs on the radio, but anything after the love symbol album is never played. A lot of the stuff after that album was "never" played on the airways anyway.

Last Year on June 7th, the dj "Ms. Thing" Diana King played Prince from 12-1pm and she gave little know facts about Prince, e.g. when his father first took him to a James brown concert, etc. Plenty of people were calling ibn with their requests to.

st louis is a shitty on your dick kinda town, where unless prince is in town, they don't play his stuff.

there is one station that plays him all day long and that is 104.1 the mall.

u either get prince or songs written by prince so it's pretty cool, but the other stations in town don't play him unless he is here,
then it seems like all but the country stations play him, and they talk about him, so it's all good..

i remember calling into one of the country stations for a prize one time, and when they asked who my fave artist was i said prince, live on the air,, they were pissed, and i didn't get my prize... but it was cool representing him on a country station.

also i called in once, when they were interviewing garth brooks, and asked him if he ever thought about working with prince and he said his dream collabo would be he, prince and steve tyler... shortly after he did the chris gaines thing, so i guess he sorta did what he wanted...

I'm sorry I'm kinda lost here but what was the Chris Gaines thing?? Did Garth actually work with P or just Steven Tyler?

Here in Detroit, since this is the city with the strongest Prince fanbase, Prince is pretty frequent on the radio, but of course not on the urban hip hop/ rnb stations. But on one RnB/jazz station (107.5 WGPR) it's not uncommon 2 hear "She Loves me 4 Me", "Muse 2 the Pharoh", "U make my Sunshine", "Xogenous", or "Xotica" in regular rotation. Another one (90.9 WDTR) plays alot of old school rnb and the dj is a huge Prince fan. She goes beyond the "hits" and will pull out some classics and rarely heard songs that the general public don't get 2 hear, like "Private Joy", "Party Up", "17 Days", "Lady Cab Driver", "Batdance (Vicki Vale Mix)", and of course the regular hits that are easily accesable 2 everyone. Then there are the staions that'll do a "Lost 80s Lunch Hour" or some shit and will play his most popular 80s hits. So Prince is pretty frequent on the radio here in the Motor City.

Thank you...may I add that at another job, the company I worked for, had tapes especially made for them, to play while people shopped, and one song that used to play was 'Everyday is a winding road'!

A little while after, I got the 'Rave' album as a gift, and was surprised when I discoverd it was Prince's new song that was playing all along..see the music follows me...heart smile music...

it is rumored that he worked with prince on the chris gaines album, a lot of the songs sound "princey" but no one is telling wheather or not it happened. probably if the album hadn't been a flop, u would know for sure, there was supposed to be a movie about this "chris gaines" but it never happened either cos the album was a flop.
