However! There's a scene in the official video where the model who is the object of his fantasy vomits, or seems to. The music shuts off for a moment while this happens. On seeing the video a few times now (I don't have the disc so Youtube is the way I can hear it) I noticed that a moment before she barfs, the woman seems to put her finger in her mouth. Which makes me think of bulemia. This is so utterly gross, it does not seem like Prince. Yes he liked to shock, but what on earth was he thinking with this???

Anyone else find this icky and bizarre?

and wins by making "good taste" puke.

What I find fascinating about the 90's is that somehow he hits a wall creatively.
And yet he's in the mine, digging and digging until diamonds show up.

So to me it's either he wins over his recalcitrant muse and makes her barf,
either it's Prince judging himself for what the world has made of him (selling tens of millions of records comes at a personal price),
or more simply, the fan who'd expected the same old Prince gets sick when she discover that Prince can reinvent himself by introducing atonality in his solos, which make the polyphonic lovers puke.
In short, "don't expect me to be as lyrical as the 80's, I have a life to experience".

I find this post bizarre and icky. It's part of The Undertaker. She's distressed because her boyfriend Victor is dumping her trippy ass. She wanders into Paisley Park, having OD'd on pills, and then proceeds to throw up.

So no, it's not bulemia. Yes vomit is gross. What on earth were you thinking posting this?

Bleh, haven't seen it and don't want to. I prefer remembering Prince singing this song the last time I saw him...

That's exactly wht was happening. She took a bunch of pills because she was upset (as dramtized by her phone call). Then she changed her mind. This is a portion of The Undertaker film. Prince was trying to be underground and moody and trippy.

Yeah, I am never clear if she threw up to save her life, or simply because she was sick. I don't remember her putting her fingers down her throat, but maybe she did. If so, your theory definitely holds up more than someone having a bulimic episode in the middle of a rehearsal.
