Because i feel that perhaps what he did write was some sort of index for what was to come, like a summary of topics to cover, and if that were the case, it would not be chronological yet. So with that in mind, I think the P&M photos would be great, cause they would complement those few pages, that summary of topics that would have no follow up, they would be left at that.

If, however, he managed to do it chronologically already, starting with the first years, then older and preferably rarer photos would be required, of course.
But you'd be left with the feeling that it was cut short and i don't know if that would work. You'd be constantly reminded that he did not finish it and how sad that truly is. JMHO. smile

I really hope they do release it. And like it's been said before, perhaps what he manage to write down is like an index for all topis covered, with notes and stuff. I would love to read it and I'm sure they could do a great job by complementing it with P&M photos and some lyrics. It can be done in a tasteful manner, let's hope it is.

Why just P&M photos? It was a biography of his whole life not just the end. If he started at the beginning he wouldn't have even got to the P&M part anyway.

Apparently, P's intention was to stop the book at 2007 (the Superbowl appearance) although I do think that would have been a mistake on his part as so much took place afterwards!

Still not sure why he wanted to stop it there. Maybe he was going to publish a part 2.

It was going to end in 2007 the Superbowl. So no P and M anyway.

I know that. Please allow for some artistic freedom, will you?

My concept was based on the idea that the 50 pages were not written chronologically, rather just a summary of topics. So i thought, since he's not around to write it up until the super bowl, let alone 2016!!!!, it would be nice to wrap it up with the P&M tour, his last tour. Why stop at the super bowl if there will not be a part two? Get it now?

I found it interesting the PP Tour ends in a space with the Super Bowl performance playing on the screen. Not sure what it all means. Perhaps that was HIS idea of a 30th anniversary - the release of his first album, not Purple Rain... 🤔

Prince might've written more than 50 pages. It was said he had 50 pages written at the time of him doing the book publishing deal.

-- Who said he had only written 50 pages? I noticed that a lot of information post death is being put out via Internet has if it is fact with no source.

.

Wrong again as per usual. http://www.vogue.com/1341...ouncement/

.

According to literary agent Esther Newberg, he’s already turned in the first 50 pages of the manuscript.

.

FYI 50 pages is a standard minimal requirement before a publisher starts thinking about handing over large sums of money, especially when it invovles someone who's known to renege on deals.

Prince wanted it to stop at the 2007 Superbowl, we don't know why. When you start writing your biography you usually start at the beginning, however we don't know what those 50 pages contain and if there are more. Since Prince isn't here they may release it with additional bio written by someone else. Or they might just release the 50 pages with pictures. He was going to end it in 2007, if it's released with additional info it probably will end with his death.

I am aware that some sort of treatement would have been turned into the publisher however, we have no idea if he wrote more pages after signing the contract. So once again who said or knows if there are more than 50 pages written. We do not know for sure.

Don't Know about or....... all of what happens to get some1 to take on a book .... or what the requirements R for one to agree on publishing, however I was just thinking to myself " ....when will we hear something on the 50 pages??? that Prince was working on. Also hoping if there are other writings that were found,....... maybe they could be placed in the book to maybe fill in along with (photo's) to have a almost finished product.... maybe by catogories...i say almost finished cause if the 50 pages weren't finished then without Prince closing out the book. It will never be finish...withouh Prince .... but a Beautiful (place) inside Prince Mind & Heart. Springsteens recently published autobio is exceptional and personal at times. Sure I was aware of friction with his father, but to come out with something deeply personal as his battle with depression and its debilitating effects on him was something unexpected, appreciated his candid openness. This was also after the fame, not when battling for success, which perhaps Prince had a bit of during Dirty Mind era, sure I have read this.

Hard to fathom Prince touching on the too personal but you never know, Springsteen often wrote in characters, and only in his best music (Tunnel of Love) did he write transparently autobiographic in his songs. Likewise Princes best work was often rooted in relationships and family life (When Doves Cry, Old Friends 4 Sale, Forever In My Life ,Papa,), but like Springsteen, also did not choose to go there obviously transparent at times. (or maybe he did more than I realize, and an autobio would have cleared up more of the non-fictional songs).

Bruce is nothing like Prince or very many people. He's more open, humble and honest. He's willing to admit to faults and fuckups, not too many people are, so, of course that makes it more interesting. Unfortunately, I had the oppurtunity to meet him, he stopped in seatttle on the book tour, i didn't hear about it until the next day, I was pretty depressed myself.

Also, I wonder how much of anything in anyone's bio is true, bruce might have put some depression in to spice the thing up. A book has to have selling points, tragic stories and scandals, people love that. I can't tell you how many times I've scratched my head reading bios and wondering if things happened the way someone said. Patti Labelle said Jackie Wilson raped her, it's probably true, another woman came out and said the same, but Patti saved it for her book. Darlene Love tried to say Elvis made a pass at her and said he'd never been with a black woman, which, if other sources are correct, isn't true. Cybil sheppard tried to say she taught elvis to give cunnilingus, which, i doubt, i'm sure elvis did plenty of things by the time he was with Cybil in his 30's.

/- Patti said Jackie tried to rape her and she was able to fight him off. She also said he was drunk at the time.

Prince’s forthcoming memoir could be the source of his recent bout of nostalgia. According to literary agent Esther Newberg, he’s already turned in the first 50 pages of the manuscript. The Paris Review’s Web editor, Dan Piepenbring, is also on board to help Prince (who pens all of his lyrics) write his book. “He’s a good critic. That’s what I need,” the singer said to the crowd on Saturday night. “Not a yes man.” THERE!HE TURNED IN 50 PAGES! SMDH!He had a book signing in NY and said "I could not turn down the offer"...signed with Spiger & Grau (Randomhouse subsidy)

.

Thanks for clarifying that. I would most definately want to read his memoirs. Sadly, he never got the chance to complete it, but I hope it remains as he would have wanted (unedited).

oh, that's right. At any rate, it's kinda strange how people get such different sides of the same person. I think Aretha had totally different experience of Jackie. Jackie had a pretty clean image in listening to his interviews he's very articulate. I don't know, sometimes god does bring you down though, he lived ten years of his life as a vegetable.
