What do you think is going to be on the Purple Rain deluxe edition? I would cream in my pants if they released the full Computer Blue with the hallway speech version. I would also definitely love to hear the studio version of Electric Intercourse. What would you like to hear and what songs do you think might get released on this edition?

for a second I thought you were talking about a DVD deluxe edition and I was going to both be and since they JUST released that Trio blu-ray that had ZERO new editions I'm stoked about anything they want to throw in - hopefully some out and out TRUE surprises that no one has heard. Dance where y'are, just groove y'all.

Yes I not expecting too much from the second disc if Prince was still behind it.As in unreleased songs. Maybe Electric Intercourse is on it. Still I hope I'm wrong.

I'm afraid that if he gave the CD to warner over a year ago and it wasn't released while he was still alive, there's probably a good reason behind it...

I have a feeling "Possessed" might make the cut. It was performed often on the tour and a 2014 Prince might have approved a track like that. "Modernaire" and "Climax" crossed my mind from their inclusion in the movie but I don't know. I'm expecting all of the 12" versions honestly. Fingers crossed for comouter blue.

(1) Electric Intercourse (2) An extended 'Purple Rain' with the additional verse, although most likely not the full unedited track (3) 'God' (Vocal, 7''), Erotic City (7'' edit), 'Another Lonely Christmas' (7'' edit) and 'Special Dance Mix' of LGC, 12'' single version of IWD4U, perhaps also 'God' (Instrumental, 12''). . (1) is a possibility, but nothing more. It would also have been cleaned up and mixed/mastered only recently (past 3 or 4 years), as the track is not believed to have made it very far in the studio reworking process in August/September 1983, before being dropped, so it may not be entirely authentic to its era. . (2) is speculative at best. . Most of (3) is likely, if not certain (possibly add or substitute 'Jungle Love' and/or 'The Bird', 'Sex Shooter' (A6 album version), 'The Glamorous Life' (single mix), or 12" versions of some of the B-Sides). . I strongly doubt there will be any other outtake material, demos or alternate mixes or extended versions of the album tracks included. . There could be something like that 'trial run-through' 'Purple Rain' 1983 rehearsal that has made rounds recently or an early PR piano/instrumental demo, and/or some 'Thriller Special Edition' (2001) associated spoken commentary (Alan/Eric Leeds, W&L, David Z, Magnoli/Cavallo/Ruffalo/Fargoli, etc), some kind of modern or stripped recent interpretation of 'Purple Rain' or a medley of some of the songs from the album/fillm, etc., but I'd not expect it. . Within the remotest realm of possibility, although still almost certain not to occur, the ~8-minute edit of 'Computer Blue' (without hallway speech), an early mix of 'When Doves Cry', etc. I wouldn't count on unedited 'The Beautiful Ones', 'Darling Nikki, IWD4U, BIAS, as their excised moments take away from the flow of the album as we know it, and with such a miserly offering of outtake or rare material, are far too inessential to occupy the precious limited space on one or two CDs. . Perhaps have the Joseph E. Ferraro (First Avenue M.C.) intro ('Please welcome. . .'), excerpted from the film, preceding the 'Let's Go Crazy' (album or 12" version). . 'Possessed' (1983) is too weak an outtake, and belongs more properly to a period wedged between 1999 and PR. He loved the song dearly, but I can't see that making this release. If WB are going to be loose in their selection of material, they will most likely use the running time for the A6/Time songs from the film. The obscenity of certain of its verses, use of 'Negro' in the lyrics, etc., would make it an unlikely candidate as well. The 1984 instrumental, of which there is said to be an uncirculating vocal version, is too long, repetitive and weird to make it to one of the first major posthumous releases, and of his most commercially important album and released by WB and assembled under 2013/2014-era P's aegis at that. . They're going to be adopting a very conservative and parsimonious approach to this 'Deluxe Edition'. . Have we been authoritatively told that this is going to be a two-disc release? Could they coldly deliver an 80/81 minute single disc with 'remastered' sound (replace LGC with its 12" mix), with two or three B-Sides and an outtake? Could there possibly be single- and [collector's] two-disc deluxe releases at different price points? . [Edited 10/28/16 18:00pm]

I think all the tracks we pretty much have heard already whether Warner release the versions circulating will tell how his unreleased material will be presented to the public. The only people worthy of tweaking any of that music would be the original Revolution members themselves "love's the only drug we do in here"-Prince
