SOTT live album?

I love SOTT, but some songs (it's going to be a beautiful night etc.) sound completely different on the live movie, so I'm just wondering is there a way to listen to those versions without watching the movie?

Failing that, is there a live album from that era (SOTT, Lovesexy)?

You could RIP the audio right off the DVD or blu-ray and make a music file of it for yourself! But there have been bootlegs of just that. There are tons of bootleg live albums from that era, and a few SOTT ones are soundboard (some are rehearsals).

Some of the SOTT rehearsals have been booted out, and they're great. Early on, he was almost doing both disks in order, with old stuff thrown in. Then he removed "Dorothy Parker" and put in "Girls and Boys", etc. The early versions of IGBABN are the original tempo, but later it was sped up like in the movie. There's one boot called Wonderboy with 2 disks, one with the SOTT movie audio, and one of an actual concert, although on one CD, it's not a full-length show.

The rehearsals are really great, actually. I forget the names of them, but they might just be Sign O The Times Rehearsals. There are 2 or 3 volumes with a couple of CDs in each one.

Also find the First Avenue warm up show before the tour started, boot called 4 Those Of U On Valium. Even the vid is on YouTube lately.

I would suggest finding the SOTT Live Revamped from Free Boot Generation. The only song it doesn't have is U Got the Look but that's obvious reasons lol. I listen to it almost everyday though.

Never ever pay for a bootleg. Ask around, look in other places to download, but don't pay for them. Bootleggers don't want money, and the outlets that sell that stuff are scum.

Yea never pay for a bootleg, you'll find it you'll just have around. It's hard to find stuff like that but once you do, it's a gold mine.

Adorecream

Thinking the boots of the Auckland shows could be it. 10 Jams off sign played and I am sure I had something 2 do with it. It was great watching the 2016 Prince channel all this epic funk from 30 years earlier.

.

Maybe the boot - 4 those of u on valium comes close to a "live experience"

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Stressing.... Do not buy or pay!

Most boots are offerd as "free releases" on the Internet
They come in files, not cds.. Obviously

There are people out there that take those free releases, press cds and charge you $80!
Sure some people pay...
Most collecters here get these releases for free..Free! lol

Anywho.. there are some good SOTT boots..
Paris Soundboard
The rehearsals!...faint Soundboard

It's too bad there are so many issues with ownership of the film. If that could be sorted out it would be easy money for the estate! Finally release it on Blu-Ray in the States and issue the audio as a live cd. I would be happy to buy both.

That's right: 4 Those Of U On Valium (aka 'Housequake' bootleg) is great stuff.
The video is on YouTube, at least a portion of it. When you're lucky (like I was
headbang), you even can stumble upon a dvd version (footage is actually VHS quality). Great stuff!

Yep! There is still one copy of that dvd on eBay for a reasonable price. But be careful: although it's on dvd, the footage is VHS quality. But still very enjoyable.
