No, I'm not waiting for a tribute. I automatically compare the tribute performaces to Prince live performances and for me it turns out to be a disappointment most of the time. Exception for me is Sheila E. I expect some artists will honor him with their new art / music. I think that is enough. What could be a good idea is a concert with music and artists Prince was influenced by. And have them perform not Prince songs but their own music or songs Prince liked to honor him. Stevie, Joni, Sly&The Family Stone, Janelle Monea, Lianna La Havas, Chaka Khan... [Edited 10/26/16 15:12pm]

I like this idea too, but not related to his passing (NOT a celebratory time imo) nor his birthday (he didn't celebrate birthdays anymore and it seems weird for us to do so knowing how he felt about that). An entirely different timeframe, held on the grounds of PP between May through October, preferably during the cooler months if held outdoors.

As someone who attended the tribute on Oct. 13, it was bettersweet becasue at some point you want to here Prince and that ain't gonna happen.
I don't think those artist listed will make it any better. But a yearly celebration with those artists and artists that Prince might have liked would be great, i.e. Corinne Bailey Rae or Andy Allo you get the idea. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

That would be an amazing show-one with the folks who influenced Prince and those he influenced. Just a thought but I can't sit through another night of peoplesining Prince's greatest hits and not do one or two fam(us) favorites. Beautiful, Loved and Blessed
Thank You Prince | |

The only real tribute would be largely unseen live performances by Prince himself.

Yes, I totally agree and am curious to see how they honor him at the Grammy's next year. We also have the AMA's coming up too, but I haven't seen any announcements with a tribute to him. I doubt if the AMA's do anything else because there was already a tribute to him at the Billboards earlier this year, so it really isn't necessary and the MTV awards didn't mention him at all. I think some may be fatigued with all these other tributes though, so after a while they start to lose their magic. Love is God, God is love, girls and boys love God above~
