Id love to see U2 jam an all nighter n a small club. Sweaty n raw, funk filled n wild. Depeche Mode. Jus like the strip during the wild days. Punk era all nighters back in the early 80s were killer too,Gazzaris,The Starwood,The Whiskey..

George Clinton still has aftershows. Went to a really good one at a small club last year... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Nobody could do it justice, and I say that with the most unbiased stance possible. "You always get the dream that you deserve, from what you value the most" -Prince 2013

As a huge U2 fan... they themselves have admitted they are not a good "jamming" band... they rehearse to death to get the arc of their show "figured out" just right. Interestingly enough, some of their better shows of the last 20 years were the Irving Plaza and Summerfield Theatre shows. I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore...

U completely missed the point. Which is Bono himself has gone on record and said this would probably be a disaster. I have watched U2 live 3 times and the shows have gotten better each time. But all but a few moments of their shows are not carefully choreographed, especially since their last 2 shows in particular are accompanied by VFX that are complex and ingrained into the show to an insane level.
He has even admired Prince and this is a direct quote from Conversation With Bono:
"These white rock stars, they think they're authentic, and that Prince is just some sort of showbiz Christmas tree. But he has more soul in his little finger than a whole harbor full of these rock bands."
So in summary - we both agree U2 are great. They have performed great theater shows and Bono going "off-script" has resulted in some of the most touching moments I've seen in Rock & Roll... but he disagrees with U. If I can find his exact quotes on that, I'll post them. I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore...

But, that isn't answering the question of who can Prince's baton be passed to. The answer? No one. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
