Do you ever forget that Prince Has died?

For me I have been blocking out it of my mind. Sometimes I will be listening to the radio and they will play "Kiss" or "when doves cry" and I'm like "yeah they are playing some good jams", then it hits me again Prince that has died sad

I mean, there are moments when I don't necessarily think about it. But I'm forced to remember it sometimes. I have a cooking webseries on the internetz. There's a photo on the wall behind me; just a regular kitchen decor pic. When Prince died, I decided to change out the photo with an album cover in one of those album frames. I missed doing For You for some reason, but picked up, sequentially, with Prince. I just used Rave the other day, so now I'm going back through a few of the 12" singles, through the end of the year. So - on that tip, I'm forced to remember he's gone, by just finding the next cover to mount in a frame and hang behind me for the course of that episode.

But there are plenty of times I sort of forget. Today really lambasted me yesterday, as did the pic of "Stay Cool" lyrics the day before. I saw one report of people inside PP today on the tour, and I couldn't handle it. I decided I couldn't read that stuff just now. I've been relatively okay for a few months, but now it's sorta F'd up again. I'm sure I'd be a sight in there, grown ass bearded dude, bawling like a twat inside those walls.

Ugh, I don't know how those folks did it today.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

At first it would take me a while to remember after I woke up. Then I would cry, wish he would come back, wonder where he is and why...the whole nine.

I miss him terribly and still tear up sometimes, still thinking that he cannot really be gone...he just can't. sad

While I was watching Luke Cage I kept wishing he was here to see it. I think he would have loved it.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I keep getting weird fits of desperation to go online and buy P concert tickets - it's like a strange panic like they'll be sold out fast or something and I am being stupid by waiting. Then it dawns on me how ridiculous that is.

.

I feel so strange that he isn't out there - just existing - at the same time as me. I never saw the man once in my whole life in person it's the weirdest damn thing and it happens all the time now.

Nope. I've been thinking about him everyday since April 21. Until Tyka's interview yesterday, I had gotten to the point of acceptance and was ok with knowing that he's not here, but now I'm hurting all over again.

I'm reminded every time I see a video, photo, or hear a song. It's hard to believe that he's really gone sometimes, but I never forget that he is.

He died, that`s a fact. I am fully aware of that fact.

It took a long time, much longer than i thought - what`s great for me is :

when i listen to his music, it takes me to another place, and it`s the same as it ever was.

just enjoying the sound, the groove and the depth of his art feels as good as it ever did.

no more pain. i am ok. it took a long time though.

I never was anything more than a fan buyn a ticket to his shows, readn a bit on sites n a magazine maybe nothing more. Unlike some who did a ton of real following so .. hes gone ya but what did I ever really have except what I still have, the music, which now I have more of so hes never gone.

I don't think about it. I've spent so much of my Prince time researching his life and busy saving videos, songs, and photos to a point that it feels like he's still alive to me. The fact that he passed rarely even come to my mind now. Neither do I think about what Tyka said.

I try. I really do.

But even on days when it's not the first thing on my mind, there's an underlying sense that there's something not quite right in the universe...an empty space where P belongs. Like a missing puzzle piece.

Then I cry. sad

Don't you understand? Prince is like Obi-Wan, he's more powerful now than you can possibly imagine.

I forget sometimes when I listen to his music. Especially his live concert because of the high energy!

I think it's a good thing. Although after listening it makes me sad when I realize that I'm not going to see him live again.
