agreed! once the estate starts putting together releases with the help of former employees of
prince, we'll see some great things, i'm sure.

in essence, this 4Ever release isn't that bad, it's just surprising that they would release it at
all, since it adds so little to other packages.

but it's clear that it's just for casual fans and to make a quick buck since they stick to the 2
discs. it means they get to include everything that non hardcore fans might know and a few
things they don't. and it's a single purchase. not like the hits 1 and the hits 2 which are still
2 separate items. or ultimate and best off which leave out a lot of stuff.

could have made it a 3 disc package, like hits/bsides, instead of the bside disc they could've
included more tracks that we are obviously missing here and a few more outtakes. but this
is still warners and we all know how they feel about 3 dics albums

It's what it is - I love the cover photo and can't wait to have Moonbeam Levels in pristine quality, so I'm buying it.

yes that i was saying the first disc is above if you look closley in small print but went horozontal aswell for some reason haha

Well, apart from it being a long overdue remaster, it's being billed as a second CD of unreleased music.

I really hope that Moonbeam Levels isn't overcompressed.

Seven tracks new to CD

Despite being targeted firmly at the casual fan, the new Prince 4EVER compilation (due next month) will contain a number of well-known tracks in variants that have never before been issued on CD, according to Warners.

Twenty-two out of the 40 tracks on Prince 4EVER are single edits, as follows:

Warners are claiming that the tracks marked in bold and with an asterisk are “previously unavailable on CD” although labels are notoriously unreliable with information like this, so SDE readers can confirm if this is indeed the case!

Other points of interest include the fact that Nothing Compares 2 U is identical to the version on The Hits/The B-Sides and that Diamonds And Pearls wasn’t edited for the single in the UK, therefore the US 4.20 single edit must be what is being used. Of course as well as this Moonbeam Levels is included which is completely unreleased.

So are they all 7" single edits (that is, where an edit was actually made for the single) bar Purple Rain? I assume with Purple Rain an executive decision was made to have the full song on there, ultimate record ender that it is.

edit: oh, the "album version" of 7 is on there. I assume that's the Hits and B-sides "album" version rather than the lovesymbol one with the whoosh sound at the start.

I wil not be buying anything until all this unnecessary mystery around his death is gone...It seems people in his inner circle know if he was ill ,whether he had hipsurgery, why he needed the pain meds etc and are creating alot of speculation amongst the fans..It is not really my right to know but reading all the turmoil regarding this on the other sites makes me feel that some facts besides the ME report would sove much of the drama.Support us and we will support you

I feel much of this drama around P's dead is unnecessary. He's gone, and he's not been assassinated by the CIA or aliens from outer space, and knowing all those medical details won't bring him back anyway. Whatever there is to be known will be known eventually, so let us just keep on living instead of torturing ourselves with things that do not really concern us.

On iTunes Canada, Head is no longer described as 'music version' (or whatever it was), but it doesn't carry a parental advisory, while Sexy MF and Peach do. Interesting.
