Moonbeam was the one unreleased Prince song I dreamed about being released to a wider audience. It sucks that it took Prince's death for this to happen.

That's true the single version had the word ass reversed. Maybe that's why this version is on here because of the single versions? That wouldn't explain Sexy MF though.

Just played the two side by side on Audacity in lossless quality with $130 headphones. it is LITERALY the same version as BFTP v2, no bullshit. Right down to the compression artifacts and amateur noise reduction in the drum intro, opening verse, and fade out. Even the waveforms are the 99.9% the same (the BFTP v2 is slighly more compressed). Either that's how the master tape sounds (unlikely) or the Estate half-assed the relese of one of Prince's most famous outtakes by making us pay for a bootleg (likely).

You're right. Having listened again to the BFTP version, the version on 4ever slightly edges it in terms of mastering but...I also agree that the source is the same. Nowhere near as much of a difference as I thought initially.

All of a sudden, I'm not so excited about buying this compilation...but I will.

So who fancies tweeting the Estate about this? Pretty shoddy if this is the case...whilst a clean enough copy of the track, I'm not convinced that it's necessarily from master tapes or a digitised copy of one.

Target customer service told me it will be available in store on December 2. Just want to note that the people there didn't know who Prince was until I had to explain what happened this year.

Yesterday I download it from Amazon, 'cause I buyed it like cd.

The second cd has a interesting tracklist, Moonbeam Levels has got a good sound quality even not perfect.
