Nope, nope! In that song he's saying that he's not sure if she really loves him. He knows Vanity but the person he's singing about he didn't really know at that time. Just because he said he asked this person, doesn't mean that it's cross referencing a song to point to her. She was the love of his life. But that was in the past. He found someone else who he loved as much as he loved Vanity.

Just watching / listening to the Rave 2000 concert - the section on YT called 'Blues Guitar'. Now I know this was at the time he was 'moving on' from Mayte - so I found his words at 3.04 onwards interesting;

I find it quite remarkable how Prince would reveal so much in his lyrics about his experiences / feelings - he was so reserved in many ways, and yet wasn't averse to spilling his soul in his music (far more so than some 'stars' do, even in their autobiographies).

As for the marriage to Mayte, I have read some comments on the Org about him having a harem while he was married to her. Based on comments, many members of the org suspect or believe that he cheated on Mayte. I don't know. I think in the first year, he was faithful to her. Between the interview with Oprah and the Emancipation album, it is obvious that he was so clearly devoted and in love with Mayte, I find it highly unlikely that he was unfaithful to her in the first year. Now later on in the marriage, I find the possibility of infidelity to be more likely, but I don't know. I wonder what the whole reason was behind the "annulment."

It's possible that the relationships with Mani and Mayte overlapped. On the other hand, perhaps Mani made some contribution to the album, perhaps by handling business or technical matters.
