"I thought there was going to be Prince songs" Just thought I'd share a funny story that happened tonight. My husband surprised our daughters (early teens) and I with tickets to The Color Purple musical. Two songs in and my youngest whispers to me "I thought there was going to be Prince songs . My family knows I am a crazy Prince fan so my daughter thought it was Purple Rain the musical. After the show we walked past a late night cafe and went in for hot chocolate (it's unusually cold for October in Melbourne). I was pleasantly surprised to see a great and very large painting of Prince on the wall .
Tonight got me thinking if anyone else had times when Prince became the centre of an unrelated event ........ [Edited 10/22/16 6:37am]

Our little ones among us here do have some epic, random, sweet, funny, Prince related comments and questions that provide for great levity and beauty in these bumpy times.
Should be shared more!

Speaking of kids and Prince....I used to joke with my friends that Prince was my next husband, was the father of my kids, etc....so I take my daughter to "kindergarten roundup" where they test to make sure they are ready, etc. . She was very shy and wouldn't talk, so they started off with simple questions like her name, Mom's name, etc. When they asked her her Dad's name; instead of saying her his name (my husband) she says "Prince". I was absolutely shocked. I corrected the info. and on the way home had to explain joking! We've laughed about this for years now! Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

I've been listening to Prince almost exclusively for months now, which is really a change for my kids (primarily because Mommy is wearing headphones a lot now to avoid certain -- okay, most of his-- songs being overheard.) The other day I heard my younger daughter ask her older sister, "Where's Mom?" The older one said, "I don't know. I think she's Princing." You know you've made it in my house when your name is verbed.

'Princing' now that is a verb . My daughter keeps saying I am worse than her with One Direction because I am able to turn any conversation to be about Prince! Fan-girling Purple style
